Tony's Pies
My apologies about the lateness of this one. Finally got around to it. Tony along with his son run the Bakery. Tony's pies have been around now for over 30 years. They have quite a selection of flavours to choose from. Tony does a lot of "Pie Drives", making pies for charitable purposes, for schools, kindy's, groups etc. It's a great fundraising idea, similar to an Adelaide bakery, but instead of pies, they do lamingtons.
Pepper Steak Pie $7
The pie was of square variety and the presentation looked good. The lid had a nice golden look to it and it wasn't that flakey. The sides and base were a touch lighter in colour. The pasty looked to be baked well.
The filling tasted pretty good, the pepper flavour was fresh and crisp on the palate, it wasn't overpowering, with just enough heat. The mince tasted reasonably good and didn't come across any grissle. The gravy was a light brown in colour and the mince to gravy ratio wasn't too bad, along with the consistency. All in all in that department, it wasn't too bad. The serving temp was good. The only let down was the pie started to pancake slightly after a few bites in and the lid started to peel off. It was touch and go with the pie breaking up. A decent middle of the road product.
Chicken & Veg Pie $7
Again the pie was of the square type. The lid had a nice golden yellow look, wasn't too flakey, along with the side and base. All baked well. The pastry was soft to bite and wasn't dry.
The filling tasted good, seasoned well, had a creamy look and texture to the gravy. The chicken was diced, tasted fresh, combined with the veg it balanced nicely. The meat to gravy ratio was about right. The stability on the pie was a lot better than pie #1. Thenheldnita shape nice, held up together fine. The serving was also good. The pies were of good quality, just didn't stand out for me.
The bakery is of a shopfront type, with some tables and chairs out front for you to sit down.
Thanks for having me in Tony.

Read moreAbsolutely disappointing!!! Happy to pay $7 per pie if it is quality!! Purchased 1 curried steak and vegetable pie, 1 lamb pie, 1 pepper steak pie and 1 cappuccino, 1 latte and 1 chai latte - wasted over $36. Let's discuss each item - All 3 pie's temperature was on the cold side, with the pastry very soggy with a large portion of watery or gluggy filler. No crisp pastry tops here. The filling in the steak curry pie included sultanas that made it very sweet and far too much vegetable as a percentage to protein. In fact, I couldn't find much steak or curry flavour. The lamb filling was full of vegetables and very gluggy - hardly any lamb and very bland. The steak and pepper pie was tasteless when it should have been pepper forward. Now for the coffees [2 sizes only] - terrible 'mild' tasteless coffees which were also lukewarm! The milk was not at the correct temperature. They should look at the beans they have chosen to make coffees. The young team member who served us did not even have a note pad to write down the orders, which would have assisted her as we had to repeat the order 4 times - not her fault, bad training. I also had to ask her to place the pies back into the pie warmer until the coffees were made, so that they wouldn't get cold. There were 5 or 6 young females serving and not one of them looked as if they had been trained adequately - which is not fair on them. There was a middle-aged lady, who behaved as a 'manager/supervisor' would, but she was not supported by the team and had to keep directing/assisting them. Would...

I ordered 3 family pies, Steak & Potato, Pepper steak and Curried steak for the birthday dinner 1 day in advance.
All pies look so delicious😋 and Curried pie pastry was fresh but others weren't fresh.
Pepper steak tasted moldy and inedible🤮→🚮 ☆ -5 PLEASE...the owner should try taste how awful they are. My family was worried stomach-ache after tried Tony's pies.
Steak and potato pie was edible ☆1 but the beef tasted dry beef which had spongy beef texture (like beef in instant noodles) Potato topping was very starchy and chewy, more like gnocchi butter dough on top of a pie🥧
Curried pie tasted funny sweet soup curry☆1
All of us not just didn't enjoy anything but so worried food poisoning from moldy taste🤢
I found this store by Web search and was only the place currently available to purchase hot family sized pie near by. How incredible to find the nice reviews and I totally believed in.
We then compared both Tony's steak & potato pie vs frozen Four'n twenty Angus beef pepper pie.
Four'n twenty was tasty👍 and Tony's was bad taste. I am guessing Tony's family sized pie is frozen old pie or using worst quality of beef👎
I really want to get refund. Worst pie ever😖😖😖 We were so disappointed and will make up good birthday...
