Walrus Japanese — Restaurant in Melbourne

I have to disagree with the reviewers that say this shop has bad customer service. The staff are extremely friendly or accommodating, makes me wonder what they did to receive bad service. Apart from that their Sushi's have been consistently good! We've been trying then for a few months now since parents moved in the area and they always have nice Sushis. Much prefer them to any franchise sushi place (sickens me to see a franchise open so close to them to obviously steal their customers).

I did try their Bahn Mi the other day and although not the best it's far from horrible as some have said. It's above average in my books.

Considering price, staff friendliness and food quality they have been given 5/5.

We have tried a few sushi places closer to our house but we always end up coming back to them as they are...

This rating is weighted to food court restaurants because let’s face it, comparing these to actual restaurants would be like comparing the job done by a professional car detailer to the windscreen clean performed by a strung out drug Addict with a plastic bottle and a toothless smile menacing you whilst stopped at a city intersection. This means this two star rating is appallingly low. This “cash only” rice peddler extracted $30 for a small plate of flavourless fried rice (sans prawn or bacon which is probably why there was no flavour), 6 over boiled dumplings filled with old gym mat material, an oily sock that was described as a home made spring role and a small serve of what was bravely described as calamari but what was in fact deep fried pencil erasers. If I could give this place a 0 I would..never mind the awful “bahn mi”, the customer service is disgusting. I bought one bahn mi for $7, there was a deal 2 for $10, my husband changed his mind and wanted one too, I went back two minutes later and the rude woman at the front claimed that she couldn’t take $3 for the second one to make the deal..and that I had to buy two more for $10 if I wanted the deal with a smug smile.
