A Flavorful Fiesta at Zambrero Essendon recently dined at Zambrero’s Surfers Paradise location, and it was a delightful experience that left me craving more of their "Feel-Good Mex." The vibrant, casual atmosphere immediately set a welcoming tone, with colorful decor and an open counter where you can watch your meal being crafted fresh.I opted for the Vegetarian Power Burrito, a standout choice for its black-rice tortilla—a soft, pliable wrap with a subtle nutty flavor, packed with nutrients. The staff, attentive and friendly, asked if I had dietary restrictions, ensuring a gluten-free prep with fresh gloves and baking paper. My burrito was loaded with guacamole, vegan sour cream, black beans, cos lettuce, corn salsa, and a zesty verde sauce with mango and jalapeño. Each bite was a burst of fresh, bold flavors, perfectly balanced between creamy, tangy, and spicy. The guacamole was smooth and vibrant, and the beans added a hearty depth that made the meal satisfying without being heavy. For a side, I tried the nachos, piled high with seasoned tortilla chips, melted cheese, and a generous scoop of salsa. The chips were crisp, and the toppings were well-proportioned, though I wished for a touch more heat in the seasoning. A squeeze of fresh lime juice, offered as a topping, elevated the dish nicely. The service was a highlight—staff were quick, knowledgeable, and genuinely enthusiastic, explaining the menu and customizing my order with ease. The meal came together in minutes, perfect for a quick lunch, yet the quality felt far from fast food. At around $15 for the burrito and $8 for the nachos, it’s a bit pricier than some competitors, but the fresh ingredients and Zambrero’s Plate 4 Plate initiative—donating a meal for every purchase—make it worth every cent.Zambrero delivers a fresh, customizable Mexican experience with a feel-good mission. My only critique is that some locations can be inconsistent, as I’ve read mixed reviews about service and portion sizes elsewhere. But at Surfers Paradise, they nailed it. I’m already looking forward to trying their spiced cauliflower tacos next timeRating: 4.5/5 Pro tip: Order online for a quick pickup, and don’t skip the verde sauce for...
Read moreWe recently ordered from this Mexican restaurant through Menulog and had a fantastic experience! We got 2 Soft Tacos (Classic Beef Mince with Jalapenos and Red Chili, and Lamb with Red Chili), 1 Marinated Lamb Hard Taco with Secret BBQ, and 1 Grilled Chicken Dos Capas with Jalapenos and Chipotle Extra Mild sauce. Everything was absolutely delicious. Initially, I thought it would be just another taco shop to fill my stomach, but it really exceeded my expectations!
I also want to commend them for using biodegradable packaging. However, they could remove the extra packaging, as the foil wrap is already sufficient for presentation.
On the napkin, I noticed they advertise that for every burrito or bowl purchased, they donate a meal to someone in need. This makes me feel that the money I spend with them is worth it, and we need more businesses like this, which are not only profit-oriented but also care about the environment and give back to the community.
Don't just take my word for it; try it, and you’ll love it! When I think of Mexican food, I will definitely spend my...
Read moreI recently visited Zambrero with high hopes of enjoying a great burrito, but unfortunately, my experience was far from satisfactory. While the burrito itself was delicious, the overall experience was marred by the worst service I've encountered in a long time.
Firstly, there seemed to be a severe lack of communication between staff members, leading to confusion and delays in orders. Despite it being a busy Friday night, only two employees were handling the influx of customers, resulting in unacceptably long wait times.
To make matters worse, it was evident that the poor management was to blame for the chaos. There was a complete disregard for adequately staffing the restaurant during peak hours, leaving the burden on the few employees present.
In conclusion, while the food at Zambrero may be tasty, the lack of efficient service and management oversight severely detracts from the overall dining experience. I hope the management takes these concerns seriously and makes the necessary improvements to ensure a more pleasant experience for...
