I just had to try the highest rating pizza shop on Keilor Road myself.
All the good reviews you will read on here of Base 131 are 100% correct... so, I don't know that I'm going to be adding much that hasn't been covered previously.
My pizza was a thin base Mexicana, and my preference for swapping out the olives for pineapple was no issue. Pineapple belongs on pizza. Anyway, the base is nothing short of absolutely perfect. I cannot believe that this pizza base, so thin, so structurally sound, so edible, is actually a pizza base.
I opted to dine in for this pizza and I'm done in under 10 minutes. There's hardly a mark of oil on the pizza box (see picture!). This pizza is clean, verrrry fresh ingredients, and obviously made with love and care. A great achievement.
While this pizza was exceptional and maybe the best classic pizza I've ever eaten, the best thing about this pizza shop are the family who run it. Hard pressed to find a nicer lot of people. I just wish this was my local pizza shop.
Many thanks and...

The flavour is unreal — every topping is super fresh, and you can tell they actually care about what they’re putting on the pizza. The dough is next level: light, fluffy, with a perfect crisp on the outside. You can tell it’s been slow-fermented properly, not rushed like at other places.
I’ve tried heaps of their pizzas and every single one hits. The Margherita is simple but packed with flavour, and their specials are always on point (highly recommend anything with prawns or their prosciutto options). They never skimp on toppings and everything is perfectly balanced — not too salty, not oily, just spot on.
Staff are friendly, service is quick, and the pizza is consistent every single time. Honestly, it’s the kind of pizza you crave after just one bite.

Read moreTried Base 131 pizza 🍕 on Keilor Rd tonight for the first time. Context - I was a chef for 25 yrs, two of the restaurants I ran were wood fired restaurants. The pizzas are excellent midpriced pizzas. The dough is excellent. Light, crisp, fluffy, seasoned, perfect!! Very impressed with their dough. Their dough rivals a lot more expensive pizza restaurants. They were very busy, which is great, but for other pizza shops can cause a slip in quality- not Base 131. As busy as they were, the pizzas were perfectly cooked & of high quality for family style pizzas. The deal I ordered for my gaming night son & his mate, & myself was the two family size & garlic bread for $34. Great price for great pizzas. Thanks Base 131. I live in the block just behind you, so I'll happily be a regular customer if this quality...
