We have been going to this establishment regularly each week on a Wednesday and pretty much ordering the same few dishes. Tonight my husband decided to order the lamb curry. Sorry guys but it was tough as rubber and inedible. When we complained to the waitress and asked for the meal to be returned and replaced with another she came back and offered us $2.80 off but we had to buy another meal. Absolutely horrific customer service and as hospitality is experiencing tough times with the cost of living crisis, you should be looking after your loyal, existing customers. I might add that I run a customer service business and if food was sub par I would offer a refund or a replacement at NO extra cost. The staff didn’t even seem to care that we as customers, left very unhappy. I also might add that I had previously written another review about their customer service which I subsequently took off after the owner’s response. I believe in giving places another go. Business is tough at the moment and every dollar counts but sorry to say that this time we won’t be back!! This time, this review will remain and serve as a warning to others! You simply cannot serve tough lamb and expect a customer to pay over $100 and go home hungry. Sadly we had prepaid for our meal, otherwise we would have walked out! You need to do better guys! It’s just poor handling of customer complaints which is your downfall. We shall dine at one of the many other establishments in the local area. This place is getting a little bit too big for their boots and not focusing on customer...
Read moreHave just left Jarn Leva, luckily just in time to place an order elsewhere before their kitchen closed. Have previously been very happy with this place and loved the fact that it gave us a Monday night option, as it's hard to find places open that day. Have also been very happy with food and atmosphere. However tonight was a completely different experience. In fairness they were very busy, but we were seated in a rush with a vague wave of the hand and told to order at the counter... luckily we've been many times before and knew the drill, otherwise we would have been left wondering (though the waiter seemed new and could not have known that). After ordering food and a bottle of wine we tried to be patient given how busy they were. However, more than an hour later, on our last glasses of wine we'd had enough and asked about our food only to be told "don't know what happened I'll get back to you". Some 5 minutes later the waiter plonked some cash on our table saying that was for the meal, which he said had been delivered to another table!!! There was no apology and not even an attempt to find an agreeable resolution. We had both been looking forward to our meals and despite our disappointment would have waited had there been any attempt to rectify the situation as soon as possible. Instead we felt as though we'd just been given back our money and flipped off. We will not be going back, no matter how much we've enjoyed meals there in the past. Very...
Read moreA very good night had by all, the dishes were great, but not excellent. I enjoyed my Bún Bò Huế. My side dish of toppings was great only there was just one tiny little slice of lime and no chili (sa tế) on the side which meant I couldn’t increase the spiciness, it could’ve been much spicier only was still nice. My partner had the green papaya salad (gỏi đu đủ), this is normally a real treat only the papaya was not sliced thinly. The green papaya was fresh, but it would have been better if it were julienned, ie. cut finely. Thin, even strips give the salad its light, crisp texture and help it absorb the dressing more evenly. They also forgot the crushed peanut. We saw the same dish served to another person in our party and served correctly with the peanut on top. When gỏi đu đủ is it’s made right, the green papaya should be cut into very thin, even strands, traditionally done with a special hand-held shredding tool or a mandoline, not just sliced by hand with a knife. When it’s too thick, the texture becomes a bit coarse and it doesn’t soak up the dressing very well. With thick papaya and no peanut. She said her salad tasted flat and chewy instead of crisp and refreshing like it is when properly made and served. When people came and left, the door did not close automatically and it was quite...
