Mad Penguin — Restaurant in Mount Gambier

Ordered takeaway fish and chips (2 x fish, chips and salad) and a milkshake on a Tuesday night at 7:15, got a phone call at 7:55 from our Uber delivery driver telling us that the staff had requested he call and let us know it was going to be 30 more minutes... Wasn't overly excited by this however told the driver it was ok. Meal was delivered at 8:45 (took the driver 5 minutes to drive to our house which was what we expected). The fish was rubbery, milkshake was more syrup than milk and overall the meal was abysmal. This is the second time we have ordered food from here (first time was when they had first opened and the time frame for our meal was just as long) and we thought we would try again as they have been open quite a while now. Never again, if you want a nice meal that comes within a good time frame then go anywhere...

Ordered our meal at 6:25pm - told there would be a 45 min wait. Rang x3 times to get through at 7:30 and they told us it would be 15 more minutes. Rang another 4x times to get through at 8:05pm requesting a refund and the girl refused and stated it was out for delivery … it’s now 8:30pm and we still have no food - two kids up past bedtime hungry and again … no answer from their phones….

Edit to update: our dinner arrived at 8:50. The owner called and gave us a full refund and explained the online ordering system allowed a delivery purchase when they weren’t delivering that particular day. Lesson learned for next time - call your customers after the order and tell them there was an error, 99% would understand and pick up the...

When we first started going to this place the food was really good. Sadly the last two visits have been disappointing. Previous visit I ordered for 4 and paid. We sat to wait only to be told about 10 mins later my meal (schnitzel) was unavailable. They did promptly refund but it spoilt the evening. Tonight we tried again - it’s been a few month. Service was poor (what happened to the lovely girl you used to have?). Food was bland - chips had no salt, schnitzels lacked flavour. It will be out last visit as for the price there are...
