Went to have a cuppa and do a little bit of studying at the cafe this morning. It was my first time here and I was pleasantly surprised. It was spacious, but not overly. I loved the fact that I didn't feel crammed in, and also didn't feel out of place having a laptop out as several others were also doing the same (making sure I wasn't taking any precious space from any diners who were looking for seats to dine). My friend's pot of tea was quite large in size and was a little bit out of the ordinary (in a good way)... at least noteworthy. My flat white in a large mug was brought in slightly after my warmed up almond croissant (my current choice of food pairing with my flat white). Beautiful presentation on the croissant as they source it from Mary Street Bakery whose reputation precedes itself. My flat white was made satisfactorily. I love my coffee... I'm not an expert on flavour profiles and roasts or anything like that, but the fact that I couldn't fault it is a big thumbs up for me. I'm picky with my coffee... whether it's the temperature, the texture, over steaming or understeaming the milk, it's the whole thing. Definitely would recommend this place and will most likely make a return in the...
Read moreI had the pleasure of visiting Local and Aesthetic today, and I must say, it was an outstanding experience! I ordered the "Chilli Eggs" with a side of bacon, and my meal was absolutely delicious. The eggs were perfectly cooked, with just the right amount of spice to make them exciting but not overpowering. The addition of bacon on the side was a fantastic complement, adding a savory richness to the dish. The presentation was beautiful, and the flavors were well-balanced, making each bite a delight.
The ambiance of the cafe is also worth mentioning. It has a warm, welcoming vibe that makes you feel right at home. The staff were friendly and attentive, ensuring that my dining experience was top-notch from start to finish.
If you're looking for a place that combines great food with a cozy atmosphere, Local and Aesthetic is definitely the spot to visit. I'll certainly be returning to try more of their...
Read moreCoffee here wasn't bad, but it wasn't very good either; it was slightly watery and had a slightly unpleasant aftertaste. We wouldn't get coffee from here again. Matcha latte had very little flavour other than the matcha powder sprinkled on top; it was like drinking a nice big mug of milk. On the positive side neither drinks were burnt, both were drinkable. The little pieces of hot smoked salmon were delicious, and the serving size was a nice modest portion for one person (not overly large) but a little expensive at $22. The cafe shares space with a little record store, book store, and aboriginal art gallery so there's plenty to browse while you wait. Overall 4/5 as we liked our meal and the venue and the staff were nice, but probably won't be back. Note: Free parking available underground, but watch out for the underside of your car as it's a fairly...
