There seems to be a lot of hype about this place but unfortunately based on our recent experience it didn’t live up to it. We had a booking for 6pm on Saturday which I read the conditions prior which stated we needed to be out within 2hrs. Since we have a toddler, who wouldn’t be too happy to stay in a restaurant for that long late in the day, it was fine by us. We got there right on time and got seated straight away. We were hungry so ordered kids meal + some entrees straight away. Then we looked into getting some wine. After we chose our wine, we were informed by one of the staff that we should look into getting our mains ordered soon as we needed to be out by 8pm (it was 630pm then). Ok. 10min later, the bottle of wine still had not come out, the restaurant was not that busy, so since another waitress then came to our table to once again ask us about our mains we reminded her we were still waiting for the wine and had not chosen the mains yet. We were told they were busy with cocktails (ok, but can a bottle of wine not be simply grabbed by the waitress since they open it tvhemselves in front of us?). Strange. 5min later the wine came and she asked us for the mains again, this time being very pushy, saying that she would hate for us to be rushed out of the door and not have enough time for our mains (it wasn’t even 7pm and once again, we were made aware of the time requirement several times before). She came within 5min again and by then we had chosen our mains. My partner had the pinsa which was meant to have king prawns but seemed like they were so finely cut you could hardly see them. Its almost like they were minced. The other food ordered was very average. Would definitely not return and the manner in which we were constantly rushed to order made the...

The ambience is absolutely stunning, exuding that charming Italian elegance that makes you feel as if you've been transported straight to Italy! And let me tell you, the food is nothing short of sensational. We indulged in the selection della casa, and it was a divine experience! The focaccia paired beautifully with a dazzling array of cold cuts, cheeses, and pickled veggies.
Next up was the Margherita Pinsa—oh my goodness, it was absolutely mouthwatering! For our mains, we were in for a treat. One of my sons savoured the spaghetti with shark prawn, cooked to absolute perfection, while my adopted son and partner were raving about the Paccheri—the meat was so tender it melted in your mouth, and the combination of zesty sauce and fresh pasta was simply magical.
Oh, and let's not forget the Arancino—WOW! I could eat that every single day! Crispy and golden, paired with ooey-gooey cheese and fried smashed potatoes, it was the cherry on top of our already incredible meal. They also boast an extensive wine list that pairs perfectly with every dish, ensuring your taste buds are dancing with joy!
And do yourself a favour—save room for dessert! The tiramisu is a must-try, and it truly is divine! Overall, Threecoins and Sons is an Italian feast you won't...
Read moreTried it twice since its re-opened after renos and I am never going back there again. Both times food was EXCESSIVELY salty to the point where we now have ulcers in our mouth. The sirloin steak is $54 and its literally just the steak nothing else, no sides or anything. Instead the steak is SWIMMING in a salty and sticky sauce which takes away from the flavour and enjoyment of what is supposed to be a high quality piece of meat. Why drench it in that much salt? The ragu - sub par nothing to get excited about. Much better ragu pasta at Ischia down the road. The doughy thing they replace the pizzas with could have been made by my 6yo. If it doesnt have taste they just pour a bucket of salt on it. Seriously cannot understand the rave reviews on here claiming its the best italian when its clearly not. They are never even booked out anymore, the tables are all empty and there is a reason. The new renos included expensive new leather bound menus with gold etching on the wine glasses so now they are trying to recoup the costs with high prices on meals that just dont meet the standard they aspire to. I wouldnt be surprised if this does them in, they need to change fast and take feedback when given. When i mentioned it to them they dismissed me but i am sure we are not the only customers never going back. Staff generally friendly and welcoming as per the culture but thats not enough for us to risk the food and mouth ulcers...
