We had a dine-in meal at Jack's Thai last weekend. There was a lot of takeaway customers coming & going which we presumed would impact our waiting time for our dine-in meal - it did, but wasn't too much of an issue. The food was worth waiting for, well presented, good portion size, and very very tasty! Unfortunately the waiting time became very uncomfortable due to the main doors of the restaurant constantly opening & closing with takeaway customers coming & going which allowed the cold air to really chill (bone chilling) the dine-in space. The ceiling mounted AC vents were pumping out hot air but it didn't seem to make any impact on the bone chilling dine-in space. I did mention to the staff how cold the dine-in experience was and they said they're looking for ways to improve the situation. I would highly recommend the food but perhaps the takeaway option would be best untill the bone chilling dine-in experience has been rectified. I'm sure Jack's Thai will be a great success in Nairne and will be a well loved...
Read moreI really wanted to love this place. The service was fabulous. Very clean, presentable and welcoming. The restaurant has only been open a few months. We went on a Friday night and It was extremely busy with a constant stream of takeaway customers. This likely (hopefully) shows that the food is generally well received and enjoyed by the locals. We had a few hiccups with 1 or 2 of our dishes. These hiccups were very politely acknowledged and rectified. We did wait quite a long time for our meals, but as I said, they were extremely busy. I had a Seafood Laksa, which was very nice. Two in our party had the Sweet & Sour Chicken, both devoured it! One of our party really enjoyed the Penang Red Curry. I'm actually looking forward to visiting again in another few months, when they've had the time to settle into the market, demand and staffing. Worth a visit, but be prepared for a wait, if...
Read moreFantastic food, Iâve been a long term loyal customer since they opened. However⌠recently they switched to QR Code Table ordering, and the pricing is more than the printed menuâs they hand to you at the table. Rather than honour the menu price (as required under consumer law) when requested politely, they advised me they cannot! They just lost our familyâs custom to the Thai Restaurant in Hahndorf now. It might be small price differences but it shows the priorities arenât right if they donât honour their menu price to the customer when they go digital and they made the error. (For clarification: beef red curry is $17.90 on the menu, yet $18.90 on the QR ordering system, they refused to charge $17.90 for the dish as required under consumer legislation, nor acknowledge there...
