Golden Sands Tavern — Restaurant in Nambucca Heads

We held a function (wake) for a family member at The Golden Sands Tavern. The staff went above and beyond to ensure the day was perfect, right from assisting the night before with checking our presentation equipment was compatible with their tv’s, to allowing us to use the room for an extended period of time and patiently clearing away our mess. We added food in last minute and they accommodated us beautifully. The function room, with a private bar, amenities, and outdoor area for the smokers exceeded our expectations. The food was fresh and exceptional quality (everyone commented on the salt and pepper squid); and the fruit platter looked fantastic. Leading up to the day, while family were grieving and stressed, the communication from The Golden Sands provided support and confidence that things would run well. Not happy at all, first orderer meal's and unless I had decided to see if possible to change my meal, wouldn't have gotten any as they couldn't find the order as it hadn't gone through on EFTPOS and didn't even come and say anything When served got salad and chips, I had ordered steamed veggies and chat's, the bar girl told me she would order some veggies to come with it and just eat what I had so it wouldn't spoil, lucky as I had just about finished the meal when the veggies arrived, couldn't eat them anyway, had a weird taste and some were sloppy and way overcooked My husband had ribs which for the first time we've ever had them had no sauce, which is usually served with a smokey BBQ Ohh well first time we've ever eaten there and...

EDIT --- it's a shame that they didn't stick with the way it was for the first few months. Food has gone down in size but still charging the same, chips are dry and unpleasant to eat, pay for Turkish garlic bread but get served 4 tiny pieces of French bread sick, schnitzels have shrunk in size, no longer dinner specials on a Monday night. Dinner will now be had before we come as it's just not present. The public are voting with there feet as this time last year Monday trivia nights were packed with teams and the bistro was buzzing now it's dead and only 4 main teams remain.
