Nambucca China Palace — Restaurant in Nambucca Heads

Where do I start with this place. I go here regularly when on holidays in the areas. This is atleast once a month

However, after the experience I had tonight I will never go back again. I called to order takeaway @550pm. Was told a 20 minutes wait. Now having worked in hospitality and it being the end of school holidays and being a regularly I knew to add on another 15 to 20 minutes to that time.

I arrived at the restaurant to get my order almost an hour after ordering. The restaurant was not busy, one family and 2 old ladies were eating already. I was told that my order wasn't sent to the kitchen by accident. That I'd need to wait a little longer. No apology no nothing. When I asked about time unable to get given a time frame.

The young girl returned later when another person had arrived to pick up his order. He also was told he had to wait longer as it wasn't ready.

This was now an hour and half after ordering and still no time frame or apology for the stuff up.

The other gentlemen left, complained also to the owner laughing it off.

The young girl returned and asked me if I wanted to pay, and I was still happy waiting. I said what choice do I have now. Its been 2 hours since I ordered and I am 20 minute drive away. Still with no answer as to when the food would be ready. No apology no offer of discount or offer for extra prawn chips or anything. Not that I should get anything but an apology and offer would have made me less annoyed.

Finally at 815pm I received my order and was greated with no apology and a response of have a nice evening! This made me even more infuriated

The food is usually always lovely, however I swear that they threw it together as the meals had barely any meat and were filled with onion and a few random bits of cauliflower. The fried rice was so uneatable, that the dog wouldn't even eat it.

Apparently treating people this way is totally fine and they over charged me and tried to deny it...

We went to this restaurant this evening after a big day of traveling and just wanted something quick and light for dinner. We sat down at 6:45 and ordered our food, and asked for some water and a can of coke while we were waiting. There were only one other table in the restaurant but we know that take away orders were being made first. After waiting for half an hour with no service or apology, a loud obnoxious woman (in photo), who probably is the owner, came out of the kitchen on the top of her voice and with her severe halitosis, shouted at us. “Why you only order one fried rice and one veg dish?” “Two people sitting here.“ I asked her if she can get the kitchen to start cooking this order, rather than shouting at us. My friend said we are actually order some more things to take away after we finished eating here. She went on yelling at us about how little we ordered so I told her politely not to raise her voice at us and it would be nice if she get our order going in the kitchen after 30 mins wait. She turned to me and said “ You already got water, you can wait”. At that point I had enough of her bad breath, bad attitude and bad manners. We paid for the coke and left. The menu is over priced for what comes out of the kitchen anyway, she gave us a good excuse to opt out and leave.

Luckily there are other take away places up the road and even more towards the wharf that serve better food and...

So where do I start Well first we rang to order dinner around 6:30pm we were greeted by a lady with attitude anyway we ordered dinner & I asked for the price which she gave me & then said it would be ready about 15 - 20 minutes. I arrived after 15 minutes & I was told it was not ready yet I finished up waiting another 25 minutes so while I waited I read the menu on the counter only to find that the prices were cheaper in the menu then what I was told over the phone & on top of that if you pay by credit card they charge you 3% more I said something regarding the price difference & then the lady behind the counter, attitude got worse. When I got home & we started eating 1 of the dishes wasn’t to bad but the pork dish was as dry as an old boot & the fried rice was not the best either so over all the service & the food was dreadful & all so the prices are expensive compared to the other restaurants in town oh & the restaurant was very quiet as there was no one else there at 7pm on a Friday night I think this says it all.
