Where’s the ham? It was such a shame that I had such an awful breakfast experience today. I was so looking forward to having a delicious breakfast. In spite of my one star review, I’d like to say that the coffee was fantastic and the presentation of the food was excellent. However, when I ordered the cheese and ham croquette, I expected more than a couple of micro cubes of ham.
Can you spot the ham in my photo? What made the situation worse was the total lack of customer service recovery that was offered by the waitstaff and chef?
The waiter took it to the chef and the chef seemed to think it was totally acceptable as it came back to the table. There was no apology, no ‘would you like me to add a slice of ham? Or ‘I’m sorry, would you like to order something else?
On asking who the owner was, I was asked ‘why?’ I said ‘I think it’s clearly obvious’
So, Blake, I suggest a little investment in customer service or service recovery because essentially you have a great product at Arthur’s, it just could’ve been handled better and you would’ve avoided another 1 Star review, interestingly enough, the other 1 Star was for inattentive service.

Read moreHighly recommend dropping into Arthur's when you are in Cessnock. We had spent a weekend in the Hunter and after eating at some really nice wineries and restaurants- the brunch at Arthur's has become our family's favourite meals by far! The quality of the food and coffee is top notch and rival, if not trump over Sydney’s best. Definetly do yourself a favour and order their Eggs Benny with beef brisket - perfectly poached eggs with deliciously braised brisket matched with their creamy benny sauce. My son ordered their French toast which was by far the best he has had. We all had food envy so we ordered a second dish to share. Also get the King Arthur - ciabatta with burratta, honey and mortdella...so good! Arthur's worth the drive from Sydney. Thanks Arthur's,...
Read moreThis review is purely for the service side as I never got to order the food. Went in, had a quick look at the menu and when I wanted to order at the counter, the girl told us to go and take a seat instead. So we did. And waited! And waited! Nobody came to take the order. Meanwhile at the counter several other people where being served. 2 girls where busy around the coffee machine and one was just standing around. So after a while we left. When my partner told the girls that this is unacceptable, we got stupid looks and no apology what so ever. I'm sure the food and coffee are good because the place looks nice but the...
