Honestly… First off, to the owners - please don’t reply to this post saying I should have brought it to your attention or anything else. These are your rooms, that you operate as a business. You know exactly what the issues are and what needs to be fixed. I’m not the only person on here that’s going to voice my concerns with your power point issues. The one behind my bed only had 1 of the 4 working and the others were damaged. But before I found this out, I had moved the bedside and chair to push the table over so I could plug my laptop in. This led me to find prawn scraps and detritus that attract bugs. In the end I had to push the table to the only other power in the room, close to the microwave. So again, you know about these issues, especially not having accessible or working power points. Fix them and just add some power strips/boards that reach the bedsides. Everything else was lovely and thank you for having working wifi, I do appreciate that. I’m happy to remove my review if you put fix the broken power points and make them accessible. Also the walls are thin, you can hear voices and the tv on either side of you. This is also mentioned in other reviews. It didn’t really bother me, it just annoyed me when the owner downplayed it in a different review.

I personally would not recommend staying here. In my personal opinion, the room looks very different to the pictures shown. Found the beds quite uncomfortable, shower pressure wasn’t great and water went cold quick. The toilet constantly made a dripping water sound all throughout the night as well as another humming sound which made it difficult to sleep and kept us awake. Found the whole checking in and out process quite unprofessional. When we arrived I was informed by the cleaner that the receptionist was in the shower and she would try and find me someone else to check us in. When checking out at 10am was left standing there waiting for receptionist to appear, when someone did find her she presented herself in her pyjamas. Found that quite strange. Socket behind bed was caved in. Part of the aircon was hanging down and didn’t look great. Could hear next doors conversation all night. Spent most of the night awake so if you want a good night sleep I would advise staying elsewhere - or bring really good earplugs! As it was late at night we didn’t bring it to anyone’s attention as it was raining really bad and we didn’t fancy changing rooms in the middle of the night. However I will mention that the room was clean.

I booked this hotel many months ago and cancelled many months ago as plans changed. I received a blank email on the 10th April. I wrote to the motel advising them the email was blank. I didn’t get any reply. The next evening I received a call asking what time I was arriving. I said I had cancelled several months ago. The woman said “ no you didn’t” and was rather aggressive. I explained to her I definitely had cancelled. Following the phone call I was charged for two evenings. I contacted them again via email and they said oh well it’s an auto charge for not canceling. I reported the transaction to my bank and I once again explained to them I cancelled months ago and I had contacted my bank to investigate the transaction. They then offered to reimburse one night. I once again explained what had happened and I reported this transaction to my bank. All of a sudden they found my cancellation email and once again blamed their system. They offered me a discount to stay there. I would never stay at this motel for the basic reason that they were so dishonest and rude. Took my money out of my account and basically treated me like a liar. How shocking and shame on you!

We selected Cessnock Motel, as it suited our budget for a one-night stay, great location… only a 12-minute drive to Hunter Valley Gardens, which was the reason for our overnight stay at Cessnock Motel. Check in was fast, staff very friendly, welcoming and helpful. He issued me with a key to open the door to our room and told me that on-site parking are unallocated, which I chose the available parking space closest to our room. The motel is basic but the presentation of our room was reasonably clean and tidy, had all the necessities you need (body wash / shampoo and conditioner, soap, coffee/tea condiments, air con and the necessary appliances), to make our stay comfortable. Our room size with a queen-sized bed was rather “snug”. Our bed and pillows were comfortable. The reason why I stated “reasonably clean” is because the carpet had stains – looked rather dirty, I wouldn’t walk barefoot on the carpet and had that musty smell in our room, the same goes for our girls’ room. We had to open the window to let some fresh air in and left it opened overnight. Although our room was furthest away from traffic, it wasn’t the traffic that annoyed us, it was our noisy neighbours - our room wasn’t soundproof but we eventually had a decent and comfortable sleep. You also get free Wi-Fi and a flatscreen TV. Cessnock Motel is also across the road from fast-food outlets and pub and walking distance to the city centre… approximately 15-minute walk. Word of advice, if you want to cross the road to grab something quick to eat, it’s best to drive across the road (no nearby traffic lights to cross the road), especially during peak time – so dangerous. Check-out was super easy, just drop your keys in their drop box, located outside reception and continue on with your travels. Well-located and conveniently close to the city centre, perfect for travellers or business people who are staying there for a night or two – convenience at your fingertips. However, there is definitely room for improvements. I do know times are tough but it’s doable to have the carpets cleaned, a room at a time, still running a business and...

If I could give this less than 1 star, I would. If you are a young adult girl, definitely find accomodation elsewhere. The receptionist was nice enough, however the room we were taken to looked nothing like the one we booked through airbnb (we were told that this new room was an upgrade from our budget room, but truly it was not pleasing at all). The place on our first look appeared clean enough, however we had seen the linen cupboard while waiting for reception and it looked poorly managed and untidy. We wanted to give the place the benefit of the doubt at first, but after 15 minutes in our room we knew it was not fit for us to stay. The place felt uncomfortable and not properly cleaned - even the toilet paper roll was half used from whoever had been in the room before us. You can hear every single sound rooms away as well, we heard full conversations and men vomiting and every single scuffle outside our door echoed. Additionally, the place was filled with grown tradie men standing around outside, doors open and smoking. This is not necessarily a bad thing, but as two younger women you can imagine we were uncomfortable. So, after 20 minutes of trying to make it work, we decided we would leave and stay at another hotel instead. We initially wanted to stay here because it was close to our hot air ballooning location, but turns out there’s plenty of better options of accomodation that are just as close and much more comfortable. Even though we couldn’t get any of our money back or refunded at all, we still decided it was a safer option than staying at this motel. I guess it depends on your age and gender, but I would not recommend this...

Do not stay at this Motel I stayed at this motel to attend a concert in the vineyards. Of course the prices are always elevated on weekends. We were allocated room 1, beside the office. Upon entering the room a strong unpleasant smell was very evident. I noted that the air-conditioning vent in the ceiling had been secured using sticky tape , but not only was it this the TV remote was also held together with sticky tape. This is Australia not a third world country. I purchased disinfectant wipes to clean the remote control due to the sticky tape, then just kept cleaning the benches and table. There was no milk in the fridge for tea or coffee and no water. I had to buy this from the office!!!! When looking through the room folder there was a Beveridge list, WIne, Beer etc. They do not provide any wine and one brand of beer. I found the tiles on the bathroom floor extremely slippery and needed to be quite careful. The Location is great, as you can access supermarkets, cafes and shops for supplies just to stay at this place. When in the office the door to outback was open and it looked very cluttered and in disarray. The office it self was not what I would expect. I certainly do not recommend this Motel at all. It is definitely not a 4 star motel, and the cost was...
