Australian Hotel Wingham — Restaurant in New South Wales

One star is still way too generous for this place. Absolutely appalling experience at this pub restaurant. We were told there’d be a 45-minute wait for food, but ended up waiting nearly 2 hours. The chef seems to have no idea how to run a kitchen. I couldn’t even get veggies with my steak because they only had mashed potatoes—really?! I can guarantee cardboard would be tastier than this poor excuse for a “steak” My sister, who is coeliac, ordered her meal specifically with salad and veggies, but when her food arrived 30 minutes after the rest of us, it was cross-contaminated with chips. The staff’s excuse? “Our fryer caught fire.” You don’t need a fryer to cook veggies! To make matters worse, my sister had to raise her voice just to get a refund while we watched in disbelief as the staff offered her contaminated meal to the table next to us on the house! The Chef is an absolute tool, very rude and filthy. I watched him pull apart the receipt machine and pull pieces out of it, turn around grab some cheese with the same filthy hands and throw them on a burger, then grabbed the chicken schnitzel with his filthy hands after coughing and splattering without covering his mouth. After waiting 30 mins for a chicken wrap, got up and questioned were it was, the Chef spoke over the top of the front desk lady and said "that's how long food takes to cook" with a smug look on his face, even though we were a group of 10 people and the wrap was the very first order on a very quiet day! Clearly he stuffed up and forgot to make it! |Very rude man and unhygienic!!! Should be monitored by the correct authorities as he does not practice any food handling hygiene!! Yuk! |Then to top it off, went to order drinks from the bar, standing patiently waiting to be served but the lady behind the bar was to busy out the front smoking to serve her customers! |This place has gone down hill the new staff...

Great place to go if you want the restaurant staff to be so rude to your elderly mother who asked where her meal was after being told when we ordered it was a 30 minute wait we sat there patiently for 1 hour watching other patrons come in after us and eat their meals My Mum was called a liar by the chef and told she hadn't waited long but I had my phone transaction to prove it Then the lady said our meal was next but yet it was not to be and when we went to take meals on bench she rudely said that's not yours When our buzzer did go off our meals were stone cold where the chef had deliberately left them to go cold What a disgrace you are to your job an absolutely pig of a man Food was cold service was sub standard and I was so upset for my mother Your establishment was an absolute disgrace and don't bother defending it I don't want to know We won't be back and I have told everyone I know about your appalling treatment of a aged lady Worst pub I have...
