Nestled among the picturesque canals of the Tweed River, Get Hooked Seafoods- is a hidden gem, just a stone's throw away from the bustling streets of Coolangatta. It's the kind of place that feels like it's been serving up authentic Aussie fish and chips for generations, with old trawlers and fishing boats all around -adding to the rustic fishing charm. Stepping inside, you're greeted by the warm smiles of the staff, and your eyes are immediately drawn to the vibrant fish displays that match the lively and friendly atmosphere. What sets Get Hooked apart, though, is their dedication to helping you make the perfect choice. I had the pleasure of speaking with Jesse, who I believe is the manager. He patiently guided me through the fish options, explaining the subtle differences in textures and flavors. This was particularly helpful because my partner is a rather picky eater. Eventually, we settled on the catch of the day, the "Gold Band Snapper," accompanied by some delightful chips for my little one, potato cakes, and calamari. In Tweed, there's no shortage of good fish and chip joints, but "Get Hooked" - stands tall above the rest. Their prices are more than reasonable, especially given the location, and the entire dining experience is top-notch. It genuinely feels like they're frying up fish straight from the boats – it's that fresh! The clean oil and the evident care they put into their cooking make each bite a testament to the love and passion that goes into their food.

A MUST visit when coming to the Tweed...

We miss menetti's!! :( These guys have ruined this seafood takeaway. 1 they have on their menu fish of the day fish burger, when asked the response was "we havent got a fish of the day". 2. When has a fish burger ever cost $12.50?!! Bought 2 fish burgers and 4 potato scollops $33 later. They have this disgusting coconut crumb on all of their fish and its hidious. I used to love this store when it was menetti's but now it is really bad and really over priced so we will be going to Tata Gina's or tweed seafood instead of these guys. Very disappointed!! If you want the best fish and chip takeawy on the gold coast go to Lukas Takeaway Palm Beach, their burgers are the bomb!! So is there battered savs yummy yummy ;)

I am very sure it was your takeaway, which other seafood takeaway used to be called menetti's? Or dont you know the history of your own business? Wow you've just advertised great expertise in customer service right there, so get ready for a decline in your business ;) top notch job ya wally!! Lol Its also very concerning that you dont know the prices of your own products you are selling to customers. I wasnt going to mention it, although since you are insulting your customers, learn how to wash and cut up lettuce mate, putting rotten lettuce and practically a whole lettuce core on a fish burgers is...

This place needs to be bypassed at all costs. The stuff they dish up is extremely oily and it does not matter if it is crumbed or battered, they obviously just dip it straight into the oil rig. I ordered 2 pieces of top of the range Hoki with a price tag at $7.90 per piece with one battered and one crumbed. The fish was clearly frozen and at $7.90 per piece, I think I can reasonably expect it should be FRESH, without seeking any clarification (BIg Mistake) Not only was my fish cooked from frozen it tasted OLD. I know my fish,having in a previous life been the Regional Sales Manager for Sealord Products....This performance, I experienced this evening was just atrocious and apart from putting a nasty taste in my mouth, it ended what had otherwise been a superb day. If you do read this, please do yourself a favour and look somewhere else to dine and I also suggest you may wish to look on 'Trip Advisor' at the large number or very negative reviews about this joint which supports my posting and horrendous experience at GET HOOKED.
