Maccoa — Restaurant in New South Wales

It's unfortunate to leave a 1* review but based on our overall experience, we didn't feel that anything else was appropriate. We came here twice because we stayed at the Clan and had breakfast included. The first time we came they mixed up the coffee order, which is not a big deal but the coffee was unfortunately not great at all. The medium poached eggs came with a runny egg white. We were looking forward to give it a second try. Again the food order was incorrect but what was worse is that they served moldy bread. We returned the plate a second time and the third time we received moldy bread again. The girl with the red hair was extremely apologetic and I felt bad she had to deal with it. At no point was she supported by her manager. I saw the shocked face of her (what we think is her) manager but she left the girl alone to deal with it. We were offered a coffee on the house but honestly, to serve moldy food items twice (!!) is rather a systematic issue. Throw the bag out where the moldy bread was in and don't pick slices that look okay!! The chef needs to re-evaluate her practises. This is beyond unacceptable. Again, the girl did her very best to handle the situation but was let down by whoever was in charge. We won't return to this place.

Ps. The 4*/5 for service are for the girl with the red hair - she did the best...

This cafe is a standout! The award they’ve won for best breakfast on the central coast is well deserved, however what sets this place apart is the service the staff provided. We stayed at the adjoining hotel and had breakfast here multiple times during our stay.

Every meal we had there, the staff went above and beyond and were incredibly friendly and polite. It was what made us keep going back!

If you love fluffy scrambled eggs - make sure you order a dish with them here as they do them perfectly!

Great views of the lagoon outside The Clan with some outside...

This was a lovely spot away from the main hustle & bustle of Terrigal. You can opt to sit outside by the bay/river or inside which has plenty of natural light & windows to enjoy the sunshine & view. The menu offers many classics at reasonable prices. The staff here are very friendly & attentive. The breakfast options were all delicious although the avocado toast was slightly different to the menu description, but delicious none the less. Big breakfast has all the classics & the buttermilk pancakes were so fluffy...
