'Attention to Detail' 🤗 . . . Freya was our first personal contact at 'Swells' after our online booking for Valentine's Day. we knew everything would flow smoothly because of her organised confident and friendly demeanour . . . and it did. (none of this 'we'll try to meet your request' rubbish elsewhere in Terrigal that leaves you wondering what will happen when you arrive)
the staff share the tips. we had an envelope ready for our table server. the staff work as a team and so the tips are shared. when I paid for our drinks I asked Freya about tips. she commented "we didn't mention tips tonyt because of the price you paid". even so we wanted to acknowledge their part in helping our Valentine's celebration meal flow seamlessly.
ALL the staff were friendly knowledgeable courteous and attentive . . . we were asked "any allergies?" and so one course arrived with no spinach. communication is so important. elswhere in Terrigal you can regularly make a request and it's written down and still doesn't happen. our water jug was replaced as it approached empty. a pepper grinder was supplied within seconds of being requested and fresh cutlery arrived with each course when table staff noticed that it was required . . . this is attention to dining detail that has been sadly missing in Terrigal for some time. and btw the chef & kitchen staff match the 'glory days' of the Reef and Cowrie. We know we've...
Read moreWe went to dinner last night to Swells with friends for the first time and it was such an incredible experience! The food was spot on and the service was perfect! Million dollar views overlooking the beach all the way up the point, the place is decorated so tastefully and even the bathrooms impressed me, the hand soap even is luxurious!
Our glasses were never empty, and we were checked on quite regularly to see if we needed or wanted anything
I shared the zucchini flowers and pork belly for entree and I think they both are the best I’ve ever had, pork was soft and prawn dumpling paired with it, was perfection! Zucchini flowers had so much flavour!
Main was recommended to me - beef fillet Again, best I have ever had! Thick, juicy and my knife went through it like butter, and the sauce! YUM!
Coconut marggy - may as well be in Tahiti! Delish cocktails
Tiramisu was the winner! If you don’t get this when you go, your missing out I would go back to just eat 3 of these! Soft fluffy and full of flavour!
You can really tell the staff take pride in this restaurant and go the extra mile to make this experience mind blowing
I can not wait to...
Read moreVisited a little while ago. Service was decent but slow, had noticed staff standing around chatting at the pass section while waiting to run food out, although if I were them I would be filling up water glasses and clearing tables. The food was decent, but way overpriced, not the quality I would expect if you're paying that much for it. My partner had a wonderful steak, cooked perfectly medium rare, but had some funky tasting sauce personally did not enjoy it. My salmon "chef's special" was a bit disappointing with just one and a half, measly pieces of bland salmon. We had the same dessert, the cheesecake. It was odd, had the texture of jelly rather than the traditional cheesecake, was not the biggest fan. I feel as though if I paid $200 for 2 people, I would expect high quality service and food. Honestly I felt like I was paying for the view, rather than the food/service. Was not fully satiated following dinner, went to get a burger after. Despite this the view is gorgeous and probably the best place to go if you're out to experience the view. Unfortunately, I wanted to experience good food with good views. Was kind of...
