Ourimbah Lisarow RSL Club — Restaurant in New South Wales

We were excited to try our new local RSL having been a big supporter of the RSL for many years in our old neighbourhood. And so we were excited to check out the menu and events on offer tonight. We won’t be back. The food is absolutely terrible and clearly the kitchen staff have no respect for flavour and quality. The barramundi was frozen and tasteless, accompanied but frozen and tasteless vegetables and powdered instant mash potato. Even though it was drowning in white sauce, this provided absolutely no flavour value either. The quality may have been excused should this have been on the $12 special menu, however it was $24 each and so we expected a little more. The salt and pepper squid entree was not great either, obviously frozen and delivered soggy on a bed of soggy chips. The wine was great! Tonight we visited OurRSL for my cousin's birthday dinner. We were a little apprehensive about what we were going to eat, as they had very limited vegetarian options (let alone vegan), so we reluctantly ordered their Cajun Spiced Sweet Potato Salad. Well, I take back all reluctantness. This dish was amazing, and that comes from someone who seriously struggles to enjoy salads. Topped with Cashew Ranch Dressing and very generous with the avocado, I ate the entire giant serving. We also ordered the standard vegan pub meal: a bowl of chips - though they were also REALLY GOOD! Keep up the good work Ourimbah RSL! Would love to see some more plant-based options in the future, but at least I know there's one item I love!

Also, to those complaining about prices - the portion sizes are HUGE so...

5/1/24 well firstly I don't know who decided we have to eat by 8 pm or the restaurant is closed, secondly if you are going to charge like a top class Sydney restaurant, could you at least try to make sure the food is up to at least 50 percent of there quality, The food served last night was absolutely disgusting, burnt, cold and extremely over priced, I have been in the food industry for some 40 years and eating here I have seen the worst of the worst, and to be rushed and reminded that the restaurant closes at 8 pm three times is an absolute joke The club looks nice, but had nothing to offer, whatever happened to entrainment in a club, whoever is running this club, needs to take a good long hard look at the job...
