Sal & Co — Restaurant in New South Wales

I’ve always loved Sal & Co coffee and stop regularly for one. It’s always beautiful and perfect. So today, I suggested Sal & Co, when my adult son wanted to take me out for breakfast. He had a bacon and egg roll, and I had the Big Boy burger. Egg, bacon, avocado, hash brown with aioli. Both rolls looked great when they arrived. However, the hash brown tasted like the oil should have been changed a long time ago. And sadly it permeated the rest of the burger. When he asked what mine was like, and I said the oil didn’t make the hash brown nor the rest of the burger taste very good, he said don’t eat it and his tasted the same. Not great! Having owned a cafe in the past, they are either not changing their oil enough or not cleaning the hot plate well. We sat outside, but we could even smell the fat in our hair. We visited Sal and Co last week, and I can confidently say it was an exceptional experience!

We tried the Hot chick chicken burger, Rabbit food falafel patty burger, and The Barnaby, paired with their freshly made juices, and every bite and sip was absolutely delicious. The Chicken Burger was juicy and perfectly seasoned, while the Rabbit Veg Burger was a delightful surprise—packed with flavors and a great option for vegetarians. The Barnaby was unique and indulgent, making it a standout choice on the menu. And to top it, the fritters were tasty.

The atmosphere of the café was warm and inviting, making it an ideal spot for a relaxed meal after a day at the beach. The service was top-notch; the staff were friendly, attentive, and ensured we had a great experience.

Popped in for a coffee and a juice as I was looking forward to trying it out at some stage. I had had breakfast so just opted for a beverage and to check out the menu. Ordered at the counter, coffee arrived within 5 minutes, however 20 minutes later no sign of the juice. We requested it again and they brought it within 5 minutes. Both coffee and juice were good but service was too slow. The menu is based around burgers, burgers for breakfast, (Bacon, egg etc) and burgers for lunch, beef, chicken etc. There are other limited items available. They looked good going out. No options for Vegans. I certainly won't be rushing back...
