Wamberal Ocean View Cafe — Restaurant in New South Wales

I am a neighbor of this club.

I have been living here for a short time and I go to all the cafes in search of my favorite one. This one is right in front of my house and it would be ideal that those who run this place take into account some considerations:

Very time that I have been there I have NEVER seen a responsible adult. They all seem to be teenagers .... so complaining about anything is difficult. I even imagine that they are underpaid, so I have decided to make this online report directly to those who have the management.

saturday morning. People go out for coffee, if yours is empty ...... SOMETHING IS NOT RIGHT!

I waited more than 20 minutes for two coffees. There were only two tables atm, I wasn't in a hurry but it seemed excessive to wait for a couple of simple coffees.

The mocha is really bad. I'm a barista. And it is very obviusly that they dont know how to make it. I received a small cap with double choc powder..... not good.

Every time I went, the options for a morning snack were very few (as they don't have something basic like a croissant????)

I look for experiences when I order a service. I pay for it without problems .... but here I felt the experience was bad whenever I tried to eat there.

I come back for the view, the location and the chance to evaluate the sea before I dive in. If it wasn't for that. I would not come back.

I hope the owners take my words as a neighbor into consideration. I like to support the local business but this one is impossible.

Hire specialized people ! Your business will be more profitable and have a better reputation. If your coffee shop is empty on a Saturday morning in front of the beach, you have a big root problem.

The competition on the corner is always full.

Personally, I would love to go back but this is my 5th attempt and nothing ever changes. On the contrary, I leave more and more...

Had lunch with friends there on Saturday 26th April. The entire place was absolutely filthy. The glass around the restaurant was covered in greasy fingerprints and looked like they hadn’t been cleaned for months if not years. The toilets were disgusting with a slimy looking mirror and dirty toilet. The cutlery was dirty and we had to wipe it over with our napkins. The table was sticky and felt almost wet to touch. The Manager was walking around yelling at his young staff and clearly making them feel nervous and basically big noting himself to the small amount of customers that were dining there. We waited for ages to have our orders taken, and when we asked the young girl she said I thought I told you that you have to go up and order at the counter. The food was below average when it did eventually arrive. When the owner came to our table we told him the place was filthy and pointed out the grime on the cutlery and windows, and also told him that the toilets were dirty. His arrogant response was to flick the cup of cutlery on the table and then proceed to yell at the young girl and tell her to clean them properly. He made lame excuses for the reason why the glass and tables were all so dirty, saying it was because it was close to the water. Moments after we could hear him yelling at all his staff and getting stuck into them about the cleaning. The young girls looked no older than early high school age and clearly upset. The owners mannerisms were abrupt and very unpleasant. The owner needs to pick his game up, take responsibility himself for the cleanliness of the restaurant and not throw the blame onto his staff, and stop intimidating his young staff. Would not go there again unless I had heard that it has...

I have updated my original review from 2 stars to 1 after going back. I went back there to give it another go and its lost another star. Its dirty, has no ambiance, the staff don't look happy and look messy. The manager guy or owner looks like he hasn't washed his clothes for years - just shows no pride. Its a yuck, yuck from me. A place like this should be filled with people but the locals obviously know not to go. The current owners of the business needs to move on. This place will thrive under new management. Hopefully sooner rather than later. Original review starts here Went for breakfast during the week. The guy that served us was fantastic and deserves 5 stars but the food was cold on arrival and not very well presented and boring. Not a great or exciting choice of food to begin with. Really wanted bacon and egg roll but didn't see this on the menu. Great location but no atmosphere. The place was empty while other local cafes were full which is a red flag. Also noticed how dirty the surf club is. Stuck my head into the room nextdoor on my way out, being set up for a wedding, and the floors looked like they hadn't been cleaned in years - yes years. Foyer and stairs filthy. Hopefully the bride is not wearing white 😬 Anyway, might be different business owners running the function room. Not sure but unacceptable and a turn off. This venue / building has so much potential but is obviously being run by someone that does not care, doesn't think they need to spend money and shouldn't be in business. Lots of room for improvement and plenty of lost opportunity. This place should be packed...
