We went to Patonga for a quick visit and stopped in Umina for lunch on the way home. We didn't have anywhere specific in mind to eat, so we just walked down the street looking at menus. I almost passed this place by. It looked like it had a cuisine that I wouldn't care for. Man, am I glad we didn't. I had just opened the menu outside when a server came out to ask if we wanted a table. In that second, I saw they had BLAT's. OK. I love those. Let's stay here. We were seated and each found what we wanted. Me: a BLAT and an orange, ginger, tumeric concoction, my uncle: an Aussie Burger and caramel milkshake, my daughter: waffles and another orange juice concoction. We were then told they close at 2pm. It was about 1:30 at that time. Oh. Wow. OK. Well, thank you for bringing us in and not trying to close up early! We get our drinks. Very nice. Fresh ingredients. We're happy. Then we're brought our food. Uncle immediately loves the look of his burger. Digs right in. He says it's a true Aussie burger. He's thrilled. I get my BLAT, which is unexpectedly a lightly grilled wrap. But LARGE. I'm thinking, OK. Low carb, I won't have to worry about soggy bread or the toast tearing up my gums. This is OK too. I take a bite, and start my happy food dance. One of the best BLAT's I've had. Probably THE best. The Bacon is crispy, the tomatoes are firm, the Avocado isn't a paste. I was mostly impressed that it wasn't all lettuce with one piece each of the other ingredients. There was plenty of everything in there. It was a hefty wrap. And the sauce! I've had a Mayo/Mustard mix before, and I've had hollandaise. This tasted somewhere in the middle. I absolutely loved it. And it wasn't drenched in it. Which is another huge plus. Kiddo enjoyed her waffles, which had Nutella, strawberries, rose flavoured marshmallows, and a small cup of an amazing vanilla ice cream. Seriously, some good ice cream. It made me regret not getting a vanilla milkshake as well. All in all, we loved it and decided we would make that our go-to spot when down in that area. My mouth is watering now thinking of...

Read moreA wonderful, warm, inviting, well priced, generous portioned place to come and eat or just have a coffee. The place is packed and for a very obvious reason. The staff are just amazing. Cheerful, helpful, understanding and just so welcoming. We were Served by Maria. Such a great face for the 6 degrees Cafe. She was so helpful and patient we were a large group of 10, with 3 kids. She organised colouring in things for the kids and when one of the kids had a tantrum and accidentally knocked over her water she came and calmly with a smile helped us clean it up. This place should really give other places like fisherman's warf Woy woy a few lessons in customer service. Pictures coming soon of their amazing...
