I accidentally ordered from Wandee Thai when I meant to order from another Wandee Thai on menulog (My fault for not checking the address but a simple error non the less) immediately after ordering , I saw the address and called the restaurant to cancel. The restaurant understood and told me it would be cancelled but that I also needed to call Menulog. I then, quickly emailed Menulog and explained the situation. Menulog was quick to respond however needed to investigate. I then received this response from menulog: Unfortunately, the restaurant has declined to provide you with a refund. We remind you that you can provide the restaurant feedback by leaving a review on your order. Try and be constructive – we discuss reviews (good and bad) with restaurants and it helps them improve their service. It also helps other people using Menulog decide where to order from. We know this won't fix a bad meal but it will hopefully improve things in the future. If you have any further questions, feel free to get back in touch. Have a great day! Kind regards

... thus I am providing feedback. Although I didn’t get any food from this restaurant, they (cunningly) took $35 from me...For a food I never received. A very disappointing and unhonourable decision.

In Response my Review. It is 100% FALSE that my order was "cooked and waiting" for nearly 30 minutes. As soon as the Thank you for ordering pop-up displayed your address on my confirmation, I called and cancelled. KNOWING that I had to also call Menulog and KNOWING that I didn't want to bother you with having to cook my meal. If you already cooked my meal then you can blame the very nice and understanding hostess for not telling you... which is then YOUR fault, Yes, the $35 doesn't make you richer, but your lack of understanding and more importantly , your lack of responsibility in this situation is why I gave you such a poor rating. You are correct in saying it was not your fault I ordered from there, but it is your fault (the fault of your staff) for not notifying you of my cancellation because I undoubtedly called you immediately.

Below, I have attached my confirmation email. Saying at 1824, on May 21 , I placed the order, and my call history, at 1825, saying I called to cancel. Here is proof that I maintain my honesty and tried to do the right thing. Can you prove to me I called 30 minutes after I placed the order???...

We were staying at Ettalong Beach overnight (May 2018) and picked Wandee Thai over other Thai restaurants in town because it had more enthusiastic reviews. We opened the door and were greeted by the fragrance of steaming jasmine rice. A promising sign, and the meal certainly lived up to the promise with big comforting Thai-Australian flavours.

We had the eggplant and chilli stir fried with beef, chicken larb, twice-fried pork belly and green curry with chicken. The token vegetable dish, eggplant, turned out to be the best surprise of the meal. Soft, silky and imbued with sauce, it paired beautifully with the tender slices of beef. The rice was the perfect blank canvas that brought out the deliciously smokey flavours of the eggplant. We fished out all the eggplant first, agreeing it didn’t really need the beef.

The seasoning for all the dishes was just the right balance of sweet, salty, sour and spicy heat (more Australian spicy than Thai spicy). We ate up everything; the only let down was the green curry - I would have liked a more pronounced herby green chilli punch; and a couple of the sliced chicken...

Disgusting Should have known better when they do so many different types of cuisine. The curry puffs and fish cakes obviously bought pre made from China, fish cakes rubbery and curry puffs had a strange taste, the plum sauce had been watered down with vinegar. Fried rice was very gluggy and over sweet and the chicken was a bit slimey like it had been frozen. The pad Thai was tasteless and just tasted like fish sauce, vinegar and sugar. Not the usual Thai flavours with the different spices. If you like real Thai try somewhere else. Also very expensive, there are better and cheaper options. The prices through Menulog are also more expensive than on their menu or if you phone and order. Ordered for 4 people no one was impressed. I only tried this place because of the comments about how good and reasonably priced, unfortunately failed on...

Often order takeaway from Wandee. You know how it goes - chicken satay, a red curry, a stir fry. Always good. Always consistent. But when you are feeling adventurous and hit the dishes less travelled - prepare to have your mind blown. Flavours are so fresh, complex and perfectly balanced. Here’s looking at you, Chicken Malay Rendang Curry. A beautiful flavour punch and straight to the top of my list for next time! We often get delivery and they consistently arrive earlier than expected and with a huge smile. Love these guys!!! Favourite Thai on the coast..

Absolutely delicious Thai food. Probably the best on the peninsula. We had a selection of curry, stir fry and noodles. Favourite dishes were the gailan and chilli and pumpkin lovers stir fries. Great selection of fresh veggies, perfectly cooked, generous servings and well presented. Service was attentive and friendly. Give this place a try, you won’t be disappointed.
