Discover the beach between popular Ettalong and Umina Ocean Beach on the Central Coast shares its shores with Umina Beach and Ettalong Beach, located on The Peninsula area of the region. With the protection of Broken Bay, you will enjoy its modest 1.3km kilometres of golden sand - the perfect combination of an ocean beach with views across the water, plus the safety of an inland waterway, which is great for family-friendly swimming. This is also a dog-friendly beach so you can bring your furry buddy with you to enjoy the waves. Ocean Beach has its own Surf Life Saving Club, Ocean Beach SLSC formed in 1921, and is patrolled every day from October long weekend until the end of the April school holiday break. The Esplanade features a grassed area, kiosk for cold drinks and hot takeaway food, picnic tables and seating to admire the incredible view, along with BBQs and a children's playground. Parking is available at the public beachside car park and street side parking.

(3.5 stars) It was a hot, sunny Saturday October Long Weekend afternoon but the water was still, er, brisk on the Central Coast. Undaunted, we hurled ourselves in anyway for our first Australian swim of this season. Ocean Beach is a long, gently curving sweep of coastline largely sheltered by a series of shifting sandbars between Ettalong and Umina beaches, with plenty of free parking but not much in the way of facilities. The sandbars make it a bit of a long walk to deeper water at the eastern end of the beach. The familiar red and yellow rescue chopper was buzzing low and regularly, clearly looking for someone who’d got themselves in a bit of trouble. Hopefully that all ends well. We’ll return when the water temperatures increase a bit!

Always good and not overcrowded most of the time. The only concern is i never see lifeguards there, no matter what time of day it is I've been there hundreds of times and only remember seeing them once or twice. Overall a very beautiful beach. Waves not too high and not too low.
