The Surf Club Avoca Beach - Restaurant and Bar — Restaurant in New South Wales

This place is a poor excuse of a restaurant and the only positive aspect of this dine in experience was the beach view! To begin when we were seated the table was very dirty, the chairs has food and sauce all over them and there was food on the floor. We requested for it to be cleaned politely and our waiter barely cleaned the table, leaving lots of food on the table and when we asked for the floor and chairs to be cleaned we were ignored. After waiting over an hour for our food we asked when our food was coming and they told us our table would be next but instead at least three tables were given their food before us. We didn’t mind being last, they just could’ve told us it would’ve been an extra half an hour for our meals. Altogether the wait time was approximately an hour and a half and when this time concluded we received a kids chicken nugget meal that was very small and by the time we received our next meal it was about twenty minutes later. We asked for one of the meals to have beans taken out and they explained they wouldn’t but they could put the beans separately so it would be easy for us to remove ourselves but when we were given the meal the beans were all mixed in. Other than this all the meals were extremely low quality with above average prices. Do not go, save your time, money, effort...

first time eating here with family. the view is excellent but the food overall is average. the wait time for food was about 20mins which is OK on a Sat evening. the pork ribs are good. the herb crumbed salmon is OK but the crumb coating was way too thick and not toasted, so it tasted like it was shaken on straight from a packet after the fish was cooked, the mash and brocollini was OK. the worst dish was the salt & pepper squid. what a rip-off....$26 for about 10 small fingers of squid, half a plate of fries and a bunch of salad leave that tasted gritty!

the bar service was efficient. the table staff were polite but I didn't see anyone wiping down tables or chairs. our table was sticky! there are lots of children running around inside. overall, their covid-safe practices need improvement.

Where to start .....goodness me, booked two weeks in advance for a table of 20, received two tables of eight. Can you do maths? We were located next to some despicable children who played with balls continuously for the entire night and the balls frequently disrupted the meal and night overall. Our first order came out last, over an hour from when the the order was placed. Our friend ordered a bowl of chips that came out after everyone elses meal even though LITERALLY EVERYONE ELSE HAD CHIPS ALREADY. Additionally the burger I ordered arrived in assembled and I was forced to do this. I felt extremely emasculated and humiliated by this. The ice chunks with a side of Pina colada was unblended which was unsatisfactory.
