Asian Delight — Restaurant in Newcastle-Maitland

Sorry this review is supposed to be fore Asian Delight restaurant at RAILWAY st , Merewether;

We read the review and thought it sounds good, so we tried. The Crispy fried Chicken was not anything but Crispy. It was so dry, burnt and seemed old for days (and tasted nothing like Chicken)! we told the owner, she looked at the plate (untouched) but did not even offer the replacement and still charged us the full price for the dish! (disgusting!). The seafood hotpot is so bad, the prawns and calamari seemed like frozen seafood from Supermarket Freezer! including the veggies, there was nothing fresh at all about this dish as it should be in an authentic Chinese restaurant....we WILL DEFINITELY NEVER come back! By the way, the service is a bit annoying because the lady owner kept talking to us and tried to find out where we come from....how long we live in Newcastle etc....... no peaceful dinner for us! she was probably bored and has no one to talk to on the night. It was Saturday night but only 2 tables besides us ....very quiet. We should have left because it was the indication of not...

Solid chinese food, perfection

Portion sizing and quality have unfortunately dipped big time.

Rushed fried rice, clumps of plain rice, no flavour and has lost it's classic taste.

Fried chicken has halved in portion size plus poorly presented as well as being dry and soaked in oil (Used to be neatly stacked in the box packaging, now dumped in and clearly half the size it used to be).

Dim sims used to be fried to perfection with just the dim sim fried and now are caked in batter with so much oil.

Seems that either the old cook is gone or they don't care anymore as the quality has dropped...

I have given this restaurant multiple chances in multiple occasions. The food is decent however the problem is you never ever get what you order. The person answering the phone no matter when you call so it’s literally everyone that works there has ZERO IDEA. I have been overcharged and have not recieved what I ordered. To be honest a basic grasp of the English language should be a requirement to answer the phone at a take away shop.

DO NOT ORDER FROM THIS ESTABLISHMENT.

When I rang to inform them of their mistake they did not want to hear about it and refused to make it right.
