Stopped off at Backers Cottage after doing a bit of shopping. When we entered I could tell that they were busy, however only two staff poor things run off their feet. Ordered two milk shakes a sausage roll and a lamington and near fell over to find it was more than $25. So I asked for a till receipt just to satisfy myself. Collected the sausage roll and lamington and went to our sets and not long after came a yell from over the counter way, “we’ve got no chocolate flavouring. I was wondering who that was too and if it was for me, yes it was. I walked over and spoke to the service person and was asked if I wanted other flavourings. No thanks I’ll just have a refund. I was soon given seven dollars and I returned t my seat. Looking at the till register I was charged $8.50 for the “Thick shake” and returned only $7. I wandered back over to the attendant who was busy, and I understand this so I waited. “What’s up” came the response, so I explained and produced the receipt, next thing I was handed $1.50. I also stated that the other drink was a milkshake was a milkshake as well and not a thick shake. The attendant said hat she would bring the difference to me when the drink was ready so I returned to my seat. When the milk shake was delivered to my wife I was given a further $1 coin. Interesting that the return should have been $1.50 from the same person who had just given the previous refund. By the way the milkshake was that weak it stayed there. In short, we will not be returning. I have been frequenting this establishment since it opened some ten to fifteen years ago and it used to be very good, over the last few occasions it has been getting progressively worse. I will not be back. If you want a copy of the receipt, I...
Read moreCame here at 8:12pm on Fri. The sign on the front door says trading hours to 10pm Mon-Sat and a big flashing “open” sign is on the window. Yet the door was locked. One guy was in there so I thought maybe he locked it to use the bathroom. He eventually came to the door and opened it and said “we’re closed.” I said oh, your sign says open and he said the drive-thru is open but the restaurant closes at 8pm. So I said oh, well your sign here says you’re open to 10pm on Friday, maybe you should update that. He said “that’s the drive-thru hours” - which was totally confusing because as I pointed out to him they have a big illuminated sign on a pole saying “24 hour drive thru”
He said “that’s wrong” so I pointed out so was his trading hours list on the door of the restaurant and the “open” sign on the window of the restaurant.
He said he didn’t care.
For management: it’s not hard.
if your drive thru is not 24/7 then turn off / take down the sign saying “24 hour drive-thru” if the opening hours for the indoor area and the drive-thru are different then change your sign on the front door to explicitly say “drive-thru ZZ to ZZ, cafe ZZ to ZZ” - having hours on your front door that relate to the drive thru but yet doesn’t say that, and you have a big “drive thru 24 hours” sign, is totally misleading and if you cannot see that then I don’t...
Read moreAtrocious customer service. After being told our first option is sold out we chose our second option, it was sold out too, so we chose a 3rd option also sold out, when given our remaining options to decide between, an older woman who i cant believe is still employed there storms over and tells us to repeatedly "Hurry up" and that we can't waste time deciding and that they have too many more customers to serve. When i advised her we had decided well in advance but needed to change our decisions when everything was sold out, she ignored me and then continued to absolutely berate the poor girl serving us for allowing customers to take time deciding. I have never in my life been so badly verbally abused. My 7yr old son was the one who needed to change his lunch option and was trying to decide, but once we got yelled at he was so shaken by the encounter he couldn't even open his mouth to choose one of the remaining options so we had to leave with everyones...
