7 of us went out for dinner here and 2 of us who ate the same soft shell crab dish and duck curry unfortunately got food poisoning. We were both very sick, diarrhoea, vomiting, nausea and sweats. Absolutely disgusted with how they handled things when told. I saw them in person along with my leftovers to alert them of what happened. My friend called as well. No apology, no compassion instead just accusations of lying and that noone else has complained and that other people were served those dishes. We were both told to get doctors certificates and that we needed to prove it. Absolutely disgusting. I work in a cafe myself and if we handled any situation like this we would be out the door. We were also both told that the manager just flew to Thailand today conveniently enough and we both left our phone numbers and names so we could be contacted about this around 4pm today. No call whatsoever and no follow up on the other persons behalf. Our other friend is pregnant and we are so thankful that she didn't eat either of these dishes. 4 years ago I actually had food poisoning from Kinn Thai Kotara and ended up on a drip. I was younger then and obviously didn't do anything about it. Didn't go back there for over a year and have returned in recent years with no issue until now. If they showed more care for what happened and tried to figure out what went wrong so they could prevent it happening again I honestly probably wouldn't resort to this review but other people need to be aware so this does not happened to...
Read moreEating lunch alone, I ordered green curry with rice which was on lunch menu for 13.90 Reasonable portion turned up on a bowl but was without rice and unceremoniously plonked on the opposite side of table from me while waitress walked past. Managed to catch a wait staff’s eye almost 10 minutes later to ask where the rice was. Was shown an evening, not lunch menu, where bowl curry with no rice was $18. Was asked to accept price if kept the bowl. Refused nicely so they took it away and brought back very small portion with rice. Portion size about half of what I would get in most Thai’s I’ve been in and not much sauce. Tasty but small. 1 if there were two options for the same food they should clarify which the customer wants - and lunching alone you’d think the customer might not want curry that would need to be eaten with a spoon like soup because no rice! 2 don’t bang it down on other side of table from customer so customer has to move cup and table number out of way to get the food! Refused to split the bill of my friend just 2 ways. Accused me of lying about having my bill split just last week (otherwise I would have been better prepared.) I tried to explain we could only 2 ways by card as our eftpos on our phone will not allow us to withdraw from an atm. Ordered us to withdraw and pay half cash even though we physically couldn't or they would call security. Stated they could not split the bill and was not possible but then proceeded in the end to do it (lying to customer) 6.When I said a gentleman split my bill last week the lady stated we don't have a man that works here even though there is (lying to customer). 7.When we became disgruntled at the situation, a customer in the store accused us of speaking to to a woman in an inappropriate manner even though we just wanted to pay! She had no idea what was going on.
What an embarrassing experience for my friend and I, something I have never experienced....
