I love Chaddie's. I love it if town now so I don't get to go there that often any more but I love it when I do. There are indoor and outdoor seating areas. Outdoor is under a beautiful tree in a courtyard surrounded by cute shops. It's Covid safe. The food is delicious, medium priced and quickly served. The service is friendly, prompt and efficient. I had a veggie burger with a side of chips. The patty was homemade lentil and chickpea. The whole thing was huge and delicious but I couldn't finish it all. I asked them to remove the haloumi because I'm easy a plant based diet. No problem. They are well versed in different diets and happy to help. My lunch partner had a delicious sounding gourmet chicken sandwich which was enormous! A real doorstopper. She loved it. They have a beautiful looking cake display which was tempting but we resisted. The street parking is poor but there is free 2 hour parking or the back accessed from the lane. There is also free 2 hour parking at Richie's IGA around the corner (make sure you drop in and make a purchase as a thank you). The only drawback is access. Might be some difficulty with wheelchairs in bad weather. Also they share toilets with the whole block of shops. You can duck the AC drip and puddle to get to the ladies of you're ambulant but the bigger problem is that the door handles are round so hard to grip and the door is heavy. I'm sure it's a fire door and they are unable to change it but it is a problem for those with painful or lax hands. Apart from that I highly recommend this restaurant. Sorry for the lack of photos. I was too caught up in the enjoyment to think of it. And that is the sign of a...
Read moreMy friend and I had morning tea and lunch at Chaddies today. We were harassed constantly whilst we drank our hot beverages by the waitresses. We were asked ‘Did we wish to order food?’ ‘Should they remove the menus?’ We ordered scones so we could have some reprieve. As soon as we had finished we were swooped upon again ‘like a seagull on a chip’ by the waitress in black asking were we going order lunch because our table was booked for 12:30 and we had already been there for an hour. It was 10:45am. We were so tired of being interrupted that I said I would pay for what we had eaten and drunk and go to a neighbouring cafe for lunch. The waitress became angry and said ‘surely we could order and eat lunch before we needed to leave’. We ordered lunch, which was lovely and received dirty looks from this waitress when she walked past. We ate quickly, paid and left long before 12:30pm when we would have been asked to leave. We will NEVER return to this cafe, which we have frequented for many, many years. I have NEVER been treated so appallingly by waiter staff anywhere. Absolutely...
Read moreI ordered from this place by accident as I thought it was a different Cafe so was expecting the coffee to be horrible but looks can be deceiving. It was more of a traditional older coffee taste rather than the trendy coffee getting around these days but still quite pleasant. The place had a cottage feel and although I thought it was nice it's probably not suited to the younger generation. It's certainly a place that my parents and grandparents would enjoy. The small coffee I ordered was actually quite large. It was very hot though and parking was...
