Marlin's Takeaway — Restaurant in Newcastle-Maitland

We read some of the reviews before going and almost didn't go in because of the 1 star reviews. However, we are so glad we did go in because we just had the best spring rolls in Newcastle!!! We have tried a few too haha We nearly rated 4 stars because our order was given to someone else and then he realised they gave the wrong one and very quickly rectified the issue and the food was just too good for this to have been worthy of losing a star! 5 years ago I reviewed this place 4 stars. I've lived in the area for 11 years and have been going to Marlins for a burger over that time period. The last two years have left me avoiding the place because the food had gone down hill. With constant disappointment I just kept thinking, next time it might be better. Last week I ordered two works burgers and I couldn't eat the whole thing because it had an unusual taste I assumed was coming from the poor quality bacon. The burger went to the bin and i vowed to not return unless new owners take over.

You have to leave a star to give a review unfortunately this place is putrid it smelt of rotting fish they never get your order right it’s always over cooked under cooked or missing items the staff look unhappy and are grouchy they give you more of a grunt than a hello the whole place needs a fresh coat of paint and some mould removal or check the fish whatever that horrible smell coming from the kitchen was the chips are an unnatural colour without salt and the prices are ridiculous for this slapped together...
