Muchos Mexican Maitland — Restaurant in Newcastle-Maitland

I have been coming to Muchos pretty much once a fortnight, since the Maitland business opened. I also spent a lot of time at the junction. I have always enjoyed my meals at both locations and ordinarily i would rate a 5 star experience. Last night (like always), I had the beef combo, started munching into it and it just didn't taste right. The alleged pulled beef was bright red and tasted like corned beef. It was a big let down. I enquired and the waitress (who was lovely) took the meal back to the kitchen. She came back was told yes they switched to corned beef like 18 months ago. I told them I couldn’t eat the meal. I know my meats and this was the first time they served me corned beef rather than regular pulled beef. I don't know what they were thinking, corned beef just doesn't go with the meal. I would like to point out that my complaint was handled graciously and I wasn’t charged for the meal. Let me know when this is fixed, until then I’m not...

Wonderful experience!! The food was great 👍. The staff - flawless. One of the staff in particular - I’m assuming the owner, is one of the most friendly and accommodating people I have had the pleasure to meet. Felt very welcome from the time I walked in the door - and without a booking too 😫. The whole decor and atmosphere is very inviting. Thanks Muchos!! Keep up your great work 👍...

I was visiting Maitland for business and had to eat out on a Wed night....with 3 out of 4 restaurants closed on the main strip I found Muchos Mexican open and ready... It's a bit of a culture shock when you walk in, decked out floor to ceiling Mexican cantina style with Mexican music playing, but it does get you in the mood, the place was only a quarter full so service was quick and friendly. It was suggested I try the $12 combo special (Mon & Wed only) and chose a tacquito/taco/enchilada combo which arrived quickly, was hot and very tasty with pretty good authentic Mexican flavours..
