Terrible service!!

July the manager was very condescending and Scolded me !

I went there today for the first time. I ordered 2x bacon and egg rolls and 2x large mocha. I said can you please swap the bacon for halloumi as we are vegetarian and the girl serving me said yes no problem and I said thank you and I paid. This is my usual order that I always order from cafes, just to verify I asked the girl before I tapped my card to pay, I just want to make sure that it was a swap and not charged an additional charge. She said yes there's No additional charge as it was a swap and I said thank you.

15 minutes later while waiting for our food a girl came to our table telling us we need to pay extra for the halloumi as they don't do swaps. I was confused as I asked the girl at the counter who took my when I ordered and she said yes we can swap.

They persistently told me I have to pay extra and I said but I'm not receiving bacon. If it was an add on I'd be happy to pay for add on but it was a swap and on the menu bacon is actually more expensive than halloumi. They wanted me to pay for an ingredient ( bacon ) that I wouldn't even be receiving. Bacon is $5 on the menu and halloumi was $4. Why would I want to pay $5 for an item knowing that I wouldn't be receiving it? That is like paying $5 for a coffee and then walking away and not receiving it.

The manager July was very rude, condescending and scolded me like a child. I am a customer, there was No sign stating No swaps, even the girl at the counter who took my order didn't inform me she said yes we can swap. If I was told at the counter no swaps then I could have decided if I wanted to pay for an ingredient I wouldn't be receiving or if I wanted to dine elsewhere But, don't take a customers order and then scold them for something the staff didn't tell them.

They could have just done the swap but instead they missed out on a $41.80 sale + Eftpos fees + future sales in the future. An apology would have been nice as the fault wasn't with me the customer, it was the staffs fault for agreeing to something...

AVOID AT ALL COSTS.

Almost $110 for 2 kids milkshakes, 1 adult milkshake, 1 large capaccino, 2 kids meals, a wrap and steak sandwich for context.

Very, very little difference in cost between kids milkshake and adults one. These came out within 15 minutes of each other, strange when it's the exact same process. Between them.

All filled 1/4 of the way with ice, assumable a way for the owners to make even more on an already leveraged charge.

The first kids meal came out after 25 minutes, curious how long it's be when the shop was busy. The second one followed 10 minutes later... They were the exact same thing (why wouldn't you make these at once). Anyone with kids would understand how frustrating this is.

Steak sandwich came out a fair while later. Seemed like the steak (or poor excuse of one) was cooked the previous week. Filled with a bunch of salad and not much else. Chips were good, but that's it.

After being there for over an hour, the chicken fajita wrap still hadn't turned up, after most tables surrounding us looked to have been served, we needed to chase it up, which then it swiftly turned up... Cold. May have been sitting on the bench the whole time.

Barely any chicken in it, tiny dried strips throughout the predominantly mushroom filled wrap, which was toasted but soggy. Excellent achievement guys.

Almost an hour and a half since ordering and trying to finish the food, we were pretty gutted. At that point we were too fed up to even bother getting a refund or explanation, we shouldn't have to. Judging by many reviews here we're not the only ones to experience such a lack luster experience.

Plenty of other cafes in the shopping centre, so go to them if you can. Hell, even if you have to wait to get a table you still would have got lunch faster.

TO THE OWNER

Your staff need more training. They were clearly confused about where meals went or what table ordered what. It's not fair on them when really, the place lacks direction and that...

Been here plenty of times especially for their coffee as it's normally amazing and made perfect. Today we sat in for coffee and breaky to leave and will never be back. Our coffees were so hot that we couldn't drink it and almost tasted like the milk was burnt. We discussed whether to say anything but decided to as they were undrinkable. We told one of the workers that the coffee was too hot and if we could have another to be confronted with an aggressive response of "Well what temperature do you want it then"? We tried staying calm and just explain we just want it normal but this particular coffee with too hot, she kept going on about the temperature insisting we give her a temperature (as if knowing what temperature a normal coffee should be served at is a normal thing) we just want it drinkable. She made a new one at 70° we were told, it was cold, not even Luke warm. We just left. We knew it wasn't even worth a conversation. Utterly disappointed in her customer service and her rude aggressive response. You should be able to nicely communicate with a worker without getting a horrible response. Fair enough if we were rude but we could see she had her back up and tried to deflat her but she was rude. Will never go back. Noone...

I recently visited sekka and was thoroughly disappointed with their handling of a simple menu modification. I requested to swap the bacon in my meal, priced at $5, for a hash brown, listed at $4. To my astonishment, I was charged an additional $2 for this substitution. This means I ended up paying $7 for a $4 hash brown, effectively a $3 upcharge for a less expensive item. When I inquired about this discrepancy, the staff could have simply informed me that substitutions weren't allowed. Instead, they proceeded with the change and imposed an unjustifiable extra charge. This lack of transparency and unreasonable pricing left a sour taste in my mouth. In an industry where customer satisfaction should be paramount, such practices are unacceptable. I hope sekka reevaluates their policies to ensure fair treatment of their patrons.

Don't get caught out. My hubby ordered the beef burger and it clearly saids on the menu (add Bacon and Fried Egg 2) but it cost $2 each, clearly false advertising, as it looks like it costs $2 for both. Other than that, there food is delicious, but I have noticed there portions are getting smaller, especially with there melts, and its not cheap $56.90 for a burger/chips with a cappuccino and Pineapple Melts with chocolate Milkshake, which I might add, came in a med size glass with cream on top. 🤔They don't make milkshakes like they use to be anymore. All seems to have been sized down. Cheers

Sekka Café has friendly and attentive service, which made the experience pleasant. However, the food was just average and unfortunately arrived a bit cold, with the coffee only lukewarm. One thing to watch out for is the 15% Sunday surcharge—it definitely adds up and makes it feel a bit pricey for what you get. Overall, it is an okay spot with good service, but there’s room for improvement on food quality and value.
