Sherwood Coffee - Cardiff — Restaurant in Newcastle-Maitland

I’ve given 5 stars because I don’t like giving 1 stars….. the time management at Sherwood needs a big addressing unfortunately. I order my coffee online assuming when the coffee says ready to be picked up it’s ready. I arrive there (as the app says it’s ready for collection) and I’m told there’s going to be a bit of wait. What’s the point of the app. I ordered the coffee at 8:52am, my single coffee wasn’t called out to me until 9:21am. 30 minutes for 1 coffee that you’ve pre-ordered to save waiting time on a Tuesday morning. I’d hate to order a coffee on a Saturday (just saying).

My partner loves Sherwood coffee so he doesn’t mind the wait, but often his gone for 40+ minutes just to grab us a coffee AND he orders online too and we literally live a stones throw away.

Perhaps there’s a solution, maybe on the app it shouldn’t say ready for collection if there’s another 20+ minute wait when you get in there, maybe for food understandable but for 1...

It pains me to write this review as I have been a Sherwood supporter since they joined the Cardiff community a few years back, and whilst the food really hits when it hits, the disorganised service really lets this place down. This is not just a once off either, after repeated attempts to return for coffee and food hoping for the best, Sherwood Cardiff keeps falling short. I’ve given three stars as their Reuben’s and B&E rolls are delish when they are not cold, and the staff really do seem like they are trying (most of the time) but the lack of urgency, poorly timed drink and food orders, and incredibly slow service is so disappointing when I was barracking for their success. I really hope these service issues are taken seriously, as yes, good things do come to those who wait, but I don’t believe that term was coined for takeaway food. Hoping to see you win in...

Came here because it was the only place open. Pro’s: good atmosphere girls here were positive and nice coffee was pretty good

Cons: not a massive deal but for some reason they asked if full cream milk was ok, thought that it was normal. there was only about 6 people when we arrived and ordered 2 coffees but was told it would be a 20 minute wait. a customer came in with a dog and one of the girls greeted them and played with the dog, did not wash hands before going back to cooking. 2 girls arrived for their shift but also didn’t wash their hands before helping on coffees and food. they had a kiosk that said we can order there, I used it and out in my order as I could see that they were busy only for the machine to say it...
