Gave this little takeaway shop a try for the first time and wow! 🤩 As you first walk in, a wave of nostalgia comes over you with that amazing smell of old school takeaway shops, the staff were super friendly and enjoyed having a nice little chat while my food was cooking which was just lovely. I ordered $5 of chips and a Pluto pup and it tasted sensational! I have been going here most days for the last few weeks I ordered a chip & gravy roll. I got back to site and realised there was no bun on top so I returned & the lady happily gave me the top bun and apologised. As I had eaten down the chips and gravy I realised there was no bun on the bottom also so I went back and showed them there was no bottom bun. Then they accused me of taking it off, then they continued to argue & ask another customer if the had seen them put the bun on, as I was lying about the situation. Poor quality service and rude!! Old school thick batter fish and chips. Chips a little underdone, but that maybe it's just a random outcomes. Burger fillings good but the bun was a shop bought seeded hamburger roll like McDonalds or Hungry Jack's and was not able to handle a works burger - soggy and disintegrated quickly. Prawn cutlet and calamari ring were frozen and stodgy, but calamari strip made in house was nice (though maybe some seasoning needed). Fish in cocktail fish was real and flakey, but battered was twice as much as fish. I am sure this is very nice for very traditional Australian fish and chips...
