The restaurant offers a very pleasant and welcoming atmosphere, making it a great spot to relax and unwind. The decor is cozy, yet modern, and the overall vibe is both inviting and comfortable. One of the standout features is the open alfresco area, which is particularly enchanting at night. With its unobstructed views of the sky, you can enjoy a peaceful meal while gazing up at the stars or admiring the city lights in the distance. The combination of the ambient lighting and the open-air space creates a magical setting that enhances the dining experience.
The food is simply delicious, with a wide variety of options to cater to different tastes. Each dish is prepared with care and attention to detail, ensuring that every bite is satisfying and flavorful. Whether you're enjoying a casual meal or a special evening out, the quality of the food does not disappoint.
However, the pricing of drinks may be a point of consideration for some. While they are not overly expensive compared to other venues in the city, there's always room for a little improvement in terms of value. Nonetheless, it doesn’t significantly detract from the overall experience.
Additionally, the restaurant is family-friendly, with ample space for children to enjoy their meals and even play with friends. The open area is perfect for families looking for a relaxed environment where kids can move around safely. It’s also worth noting that during the day, the alfresco space is dog-friendly, allowing you to bring along your furry companions, although it's always a good idea to confirm this beforehand to avoid...
Read moreImmaculately preserved, this treasurer of a Public House really does have what it takes to send you back in time when Stout and DA were the favoured fare, when an iPhone was ' who ? '. Main Bar is like it was wrapped up in 79 and opened up ad nostalgia gift, just for you ! The Staff are TOPS !! in my book, they really went out of their way for me, and I'm a Trippy Tulip when my Bulb is glowing ! Beer is cool and crackling, Gin and Tonics are better than those Principals served at Raffles and The Ritz, even, just by a whisker of a Toffs Toupee, The Gladstone in Stockton, and that a very high mark indeed ! Restaurant is OUTSTANDING, simply, and I repeat, OUTSTANDING ! Cosy and with a Real Retro Reality, you could almost expect to see Doc Evart or Chiefly breeze by at any moment ! Food is SUPERB !!!! Gaming facilities are all there, but not in your face, which I believe is a real credit to Management. The Punters are an eclectic mix of young, older, local and in general. Even an old hip 'n square Lewis and News fan like me could prance and pump to the Saturday night Doof Doof and converse rather merrily with the Hipsters and Brassers. Oh, and the upstairs accommodation is something I'll leave to other guests to gush about, but, take my word for this, you will fall in love with it ! What a Great Pub !!!!!! Donny Funk, Urban...
Read moreWe stayed at The Greenroof on a Sunday night so the pub was relatively quiet. The staff were very professional and welcoming, and the check in was easy. I hadn't been to the hotel since it was recently refurbished, so I didn't know what to expect. Talk about a pleasant surprise! The downstairs public areas are all well presented, and the outdoor areas are clean, tidy and well heated for winter days. The rooms are upstairs. ||||There are two bathrooms upstairs, both of which are shared, but lockable. They are new, large and immaculately clean. Both shower enclosures house two showers in each. A lovely touch for couples.||||We stayed in Room 1 which is situated at the end of the hall and paid $62 for the night. Great value. Very happy with the room. The bed is a double size, and comfortable. There's a well-stocked bar fridge, basket of snacks (bar items and snacks are for purchase) and there's some tea making items.||||My one little gripe about this room, and it would not apply to the other rooms concerns the hum of the air-conditioning duct outside our window. It's continuous, but I soon got over it enough to sleep well.||||The rooms are advertised as being soundproofed; we heard very few sounds coming from downstairs. I guess that's the difference between Sunday night and Saturday night.||||Very happy stay and we plan on...
