The Diner — Restaurant in Newcastle-Maitland

Turned up with a large group of 11 adults and 2 kids. We were offered a table with backless chairs and half the group were grandparents. When I asked if a reserved table could be used if the guests were coming later in the afternoon. The waitstaff referred us to another more senior staff who didn’t want to entertain the request. She looked into the system and let the younger wait staff know to tell us the reserved table’s guests were arriving soon. We asked if another large table was available and the response was same. It’s sad seeing new businesses lose $$ and customers this way when a poorly trained, disinterested person left handling the business. We would have easily spent $400 but fortunately that went to someone who actually cared to host us...
