The Gladdy — Restaurant in Newcastle-Maitland

Had lunch there today after stumbling past a few months ago for a cold beer to get out the heat. After having a glance at the menu we thought we would head back for lunch another day. Amazing menu, amazing specials and very kid friendly. The kids area kept my 4 tear old occupied while we had lunch. The lamb burger was amazing, my husband had the Sunday roast with beef and pork and loved it, other family had a steak and baked focassia with butter. My husband and I caught the Stockton ferry and went to The Gladdy for lunch because the reviews were excellent. It did not disappoint! We shared 4 starters; sliders, satay skewers, cauliflower and halloumi, finished with apple pie and ice cream. Every plate was exceptional, exceeding our expectations for great pub food. We enjoyed lunch here with friends and family. The meals were delicious, wine list excellent and a very friendly community vibe. The variety of kids meals beyond the usual fish and chips and burger options were appreciated. It makes a convenient and delicious pub lunch option from Newcastle's foreshore on the ferry.
