Very nice spacious park with a good mix of shaded and open spaces, including covered areas with picnic tables. There are concrete paths throughout and two ammenities blocks. There is also a playground with some swings and climbing equipment, however at present (Nov 2021) they could do with updating and expanding.
What used to be a large pond has been drained and is now a far more popular attraction, frequented by skaters, skateboarders and scooter riders ranging from toddlers to adults. There is talk of removing the pond but that would be a shame now.
There is also a community garden tucked in behind what was the old rail shed. It looks well attended with lots of produce growing vigorously in the spring weather.
There are also some art works dotted throughout the park, including murals, a marble sculpture, and some unauthorised graffiti here and there.
And if all that isn’t enough the park is flanked by the harbour, the ocean, a surf club, the Paymasters Cafe, the Customs Hotel, the old railway station which is now a recreation area, Fort Scratchley and some lovely old buildings in historic...

It encompasses views of the harbour and views over Nobbys Beach and CBD. Your can watch ships come and go. Close to swim baths, lighthouse and the Fort on the hill.
