We attended the Diggers for a belated Secret Santa on Friday 30th. We arrived after the hosts, before most of the guests. The table, though set, was Velcro sticky with food litter strewn under and around ๐ Our resident RAE (ret'd) was a tad taken aback that only Centrelink benefit concession cards were accepted; no discount for VA cards at this RSL ๐ณ His decision to check out traditional bangers and mash really finished him off. He ate most of the hours old, dried out stuff on his plate (he is after all, ex-army) but I believe him when he says he ate better on weeklong manoeuvres. It's a shame, because we used to frequent this club a decade ago. My salad was delicious but the ratios were wonky. My son had what looked like an entire avocado on top; I found less than a handful of bits after digging. I also got about ten bucks worth of salad leaves. We both ended up with doggyboxes. I must add my salad made for a delicious picking at, and sides for lunch the next day. We understand the holiday season can push an establishment into overdrive and the very young staff did well enough. Not planning to go back in a hurry though. PS Dear Management. If I could pick one issue, and one only, I'd ask that you consider accepting VA cards for concessional meals. Thanks. Otherwise, the auto "we get 4 or 5 stars ... please ring us" response doesn't really cut it; just reflects on the level of...
ย ย ย Read moreVery rude looks, tone of voice, etc etc. My daughter wasted a bit over $12 on a little quiche, she didn't know it had ๐ in it & then they made nachos with meat in it after manager talked to us, beef in it, aka cow. She asked for $ back didn't happen. Never again.
I'm so annoyed at the way they treated my daughter, & me but mostly her! How they looked at her with filthy looks & the rude tone of voice! Especially the older weird looking one was Very rude. Snaps at me "you've got your potatoes!" My daughter was just going to get a drink, she got a chai & I said I'll get you the few veg & chips she said I'll just get a drink then got the quiche she thought was vegetable. I told her to take it back, she picked through it, she wasted $12 something on a bit of food.
We went there to see the music, I wish I thought to go to an Italian she told me about a couple of days before, also to go there for my birthday that was the 5th, a lot better than half an hour away where we went & it took longer to get back. You'd think they'd have decent gf & vegan meals for a bit under $20 in a club even without being a member & they need to learn how to...
ย ย ย Read moreBistro needs more signs so people know where to go for what. The 'ready to go' meals took forever to be served as people wanting to order off the menu took the wrong line. Waited in line for over an hour to get 2 slices of pork with chips for just under $20. We bought tickets for a concert in the Mezz Bar. What a joke. Ticketed event ??? DONT GET ME WRONG... THE ARTISTS WERE AMAZING BUT... good luck finding a chair let alone a table for your drinks, oh and if you want to SEE the artist better get there at 5pm (not an option for people that work and don't live locally) to get a seat with the stage view. VERY disappointing!!! SURE I could have stood in a crowded space (not covid friendly) like many others but due to recent knee surgery that was not an option. For the price I would have thought they would have sold tickets/seat (with a view of the stage) ratio. I will NEVER buy concert tickets again. If I wanted to watch the show on a TV I would just get the DVD and saved close to $300....
