I ordered over the phone. Was put on hold. I was a little impatient and had the mindset that the service will be your average shortly Darwin experience, so i hung up. Not even a minute later I got a callback! A callback not only in Darwin but they were technically abled enough to figure out how to call someone back when you didnt have their number written down. Great start.

Ordered battered barramundi, buffalo burger, straight cut chips with chicken salt and a churro. My partner ordered the fish, i never do because I grew up with great tasting fresh fish and ive never had good fish from anywhere. The fish was good. I would say great but im not massive on battered fish, i prefer them cooked with herbs and stuffed. But it was definitely good, it tasted like REAL fresh fish, if they freeze them, I couldnt pick it. I would even go as far as saying I would order the fish next time for myself and try to warm up to the whole battered thing. Only reason i might not order the fish next time is because the burger was so damn good. Never had buffalo, but it sure as hell was better than any beef burger ive had. Normally i get bored halfway through. They used sourdough for the bun which is a huge plus for me personally. I can see myself trying their other burgers, especially the barramundi burger. Maybe not crocodile, not quite brave enough to try that.

Chips were good. They had a very faint fishy taste. I think it's forgivable considering fresh fish can invade other things your cooking at the same time. Can be avoided but it's not really a complaint.

The churro was like you would expect from any churro anywhere, but heres the kicker; these guys probably are aware that a churro is a churro no matter where you go, so they at least made a good effort to make it a little better with what I think was nuttella for the dipping chocolate. A great way to finish the meal. FYI it's 1 churro but he's long, breaking it in half was enough to call it 2 normal sized churros.

To top everything off, i could tell they were busy for a Monday night, i could tell there was some stress. This did not hinder both the people (guy and a girl) who served me from smiling and making sure my experience on picking up (we ordered for takeaway) was an incredibly friendly and...

My recent dining experience at Frying Nemo in Darwin introduced me to the extraordinary concept of the "Catch of the Day." It was a revelation that showcased the restaurant's commitment to fresh, seasonal seafood, and added an exciting element to my meal.

From the moment I was seated, the server proudly presented the day's catch, a bountiful selection of ocean treasures sourced directly from local fishermen. The anticipation grew as I listened attentively to the descriptions of the available options, each one promising a unique and delectable experience.

Opting for the Catch of the Day, I embarked on a culinary adventure that surpassed all expectations. The dish arrived with a flourish, exuding an irresistible aroma that beckoned me closer. The fish, perfectly cooked to preserve its natural flavors, was a testament to the chef's skill and expertise. The accompanying sauces and spices accentuated the delicate nuances of the seafood, creating a symphony of tastes that delighted my senses.

What impressed me most about the Catch of the Day at Frying Nemo was its ever-changing nature. The availability of different species and varieties meant that each visit could be an entirely new experience. It ensured a sense of discovery and added an element of surprise to the dining experience, making every visit to Frying Nemo a unique and memorable occasion.

It's evident that the restaurant places a premium on quality and sustainability, embracing the essence of Darwin's coastal culture. Even though we were the only ones there at the time, we thought they’d made a mistake with our order by giving us the kids’ pack. Not so. We ordered two pieces of mackerel and chips and thought this would be plenty to satisfy two adults. Not so at this place. This is what we got at an extremely expensive price: a very measly serve of chips and two 7.5cm - 8cm long tiny pieces of mackerel that wasn’t even fresh. No joke! We understand they have a business to run but do not know how they can do this to their customers - it’s outright theft. We were ripped off big time. It’s a wonder they didn’t charge us for the salt we put on our small servings of food which was served up in a kid’s cardboard party bowl. How long can they keep this up for before they go under? Not for much longer we hope. They will soon lose customers with their greed as people will go elsewhere - they just won’t go back for crap, with such small serves and at such exorbitant prices. Whatever you do, don’t go there feeling hungry at all as you won’t have any money leftover for your grocery shopping for the week - meaning you get nothing for your money at Frying Nemo so you will have to spend a fortune to satisfy your hunger. One thing is for sure, we will not be returning to Frying Nemo. We will not give them another opportunity to kick us in the head. Trust us, there are plenty of options in Darwin, all with better quality and greater quantity. Hey, you might even find such a place just...

Frying Nemo came highly recommended, so, we took the drive to check it out. Overlooking a marina and some expensive looking real estate, Nemo's has plenty of outdoor and covered tables. Service was quick, friendly, efficient, and helpful with making our choices. The food was hot and fresh, and we couldn't fault our grilled barramundi, battered barramundi, salt N pepper calamari, and chips. Maybe the chips were a little undercooked, but honestly, only just. And the best thing? An excellent selection of beers! Highly recommended.

Setting is delightful and the fish and chips are pretty darn good. You do have to line up and then take a buzzer after ordering then go back and collect the meal. Not sure what service means at this place however the girl behind the bar was very pleasant. The hilarious part of the night was the $4.50 for a smallish and very plain mayonaise. I wonder why they didnt charge for vinegar, knives and forks and the table to sit at? Oh ya, if we go back again we will take our own maynonaise ........................ and tartare sauce.
