Horrible coffee and the rudest table service I ever received over my 5 years living experience in Darwin.
My friends went in first. They were waiting for me so when the waitress approached, my friends ordered the coffees and asked if we can order the foods later together.
The waitress rolled her eyes in front of them.
When I arrived 30 minutes later and heard about this, I wasn't sure we should spend our lunch here. But I was there already, so I ordered chai latte for myself and a cup of chocolate for my sister. The same waitress asked, with a long face, "any food?" I replied, "maybe later". She completely ignored me and looked at my sister, asked again, "any food?" There were at least 3 big tables vacant, and no customers were waiting for the table. I don't understand why we cannot wait until later to order the food. We had regular gatherings, and we never had issues ordering foods later in other cafes. I checked the menu, and there's no rules stating that we have to order food with drinks at the same time, either.
I had my chai latte, which was flat and tasteless, the worst I ever had. My friend said her coffee was very bitter. Went to check out. The rude service didn't end. When it was my turn to pay, I was waiting for the total amount to appear on Eftpos before I tapped. The staff told me to place the card on the top of the machine in a very condescending way like she assumed I had no idea how to tap. Can't I just wait until I check the amount is correct before I tap?
Obviously won't return. A warning to others who are...
Read moreI placed an order for my husband's birthday cake well in advance, only to find out on the day of pickup that the staff had completely forgotten to pass the order form to the kitchen. It had been left sitting between some files — absolutely unacceptable. How can a business take an order and then fail to deliver it because of such negligence? Imagine if this had been a wedding or another major event — the consequences could have been far worse.
This level of disorganisation and lack of accountability is beyond disappointing. It makes me question how this place is even being run. Perhaps the staff are overworked and underpaid, or maybe there’s simply no training or communication in place. Either way, all we received after the chaos was an insincere apology that felt anything but genuine.
Thanks to Sweet Brew, my husband’s birthday was ruined. I truly hope this serves as a wake-up call for the business — or that it seriously reevaluates its operations. If not, it’s only a matter of time before more people have...
Read moreThis cafe was recommended by a NT local. Nice atmosphere inside however it is on a main road and there is not much else around the cafe. It is in a bit of a semi-commercial area, so you kinda of have to take a specific trip to it.
Mexican breakfast (Mexi Brexi) - Crispy 6” tortilas, smashed avo, pulled beef rib, fresh tomato salsa, fried eggs, salsa verde, chili. $21 Added chorizo $5. Also added some hot sauce.
Sweeties Big Brekkie - Swapped scrambled eggs for the standard poached eggs, broccolini, house hash brown, smashed avo, mushrooms, hollandaise, toast. Standard price is $23 but was charged an extra $6 for swapping the eggs…. Which is a bit ridiculous. The dish was ok but there was way too much egg (it looked like a 5 egg scramble), the mushrooms were unseasoned and bland however the rest of the food was good.
Just an average breakfast joint....
