Absolute rubbish service, waited 1.25 hrs to be served with wrong orders and instead of preparing correct order, asked to if we could eat that wrong order for free and come back on Friday instead. No proper apologies or anything from the management. We waited more than an hour without single staff advising about the wait time or whatever was going on in kitchen..

I would support Nepalese Business but not with such rubbish service.. I never had waited for more than an hour for without any correspondence from wait staff or kitchen.

Ruined my dinner date with my Wife..

If the restaurant was busy they should never have taken our booking to start with.. also to assist the kitchen we placed our order in advance while booking our table..

No excuses to get it wrong as the wait staff checked in with us about our booking as well and we confirmed our order and name too.

What surprised me was mistakes can happen but instead of trying to fix the mistakes they just ignored us and offered free food which we never ordered 😕.. we were there for what we ordered not what they made mistakenly and offering something for free was very rude and inappropriate. They never checked with kitchen to see what could be done to rectify the wrong doing.. leaving at 9.45 pm with empty stomach wasn't something you would expect from a restaurant unless there is a disaster..

To make situation worse, two group that was placed for dining after us was served before us and we got the wrong order when they nearly finished eating their food..

I will have to think again to go to this place and recommend it...

I recently visited MT 8848 cafe, which impressed me with its outstanding service, excellent coffee, and delicious food. My experience at this cafe was remarkable in every way.

I was greeted warmly by the staff, who were cheerful, attentive, and personable when I placed my order. The staff were attentive and friendly throughout the entire time we were in the cafe.

Excellent coffee, with a variety of options to choose from. My wife ordered a latte and adored it, especially the perfectly executed foam, while I was impressed by the flavour of the long black I ordered. The food was also exceptional. The Steak Sandwich Panini with fries that my wife ordered and the A Day to Smash (Smashed Avocado) I ordered exceeded our expectations. The meat on the steak sandwich was perfectly cooked, and the fries were crispy and well-seasoned. The Smashed Avocado was also outstanding.

The cafe had a lovely atmosphere, comfortable seating and abundant natural light. The staff exerted significant effort to create a welcoming and relaxing customer environment.

Overall, I recommend MT 8848 cafe to anyone seeking a welcoming atmosphere with excellent service, high-quality coffee, and delectable food. It was a phenomenal experience from...

This place has the best food quality for brunch in the Darwin Northern suburb (if not the entire Darwin). They fact that they survived for years and always pack with people, it shows that they consistently offer good quality food. The dishes are decorated nicely, good portions The ingredient quality shines, not too salty/sweet. They are mostly offering western style breakfast although the name indicates Nepalese restaurant. They do have momos and 1-2 other Nepali dishes, taste good (best momo in Darwin), but not an extensive array of Nepali food. They use real ceramic plates, including real big cups for coffees and glass for free tap water. The service is great, although it can take a while for the food to come out, worth the wait. They also don't charge the eftpos fees, amazing. If you only have a day to have a breakfast/ brunch in Darwin, this would be your best bet. Yes the atmosphere is ordinary but the food quality is good. It has aircon. Plenty of car park. Not so wheelchair friendly, pram can enter, not sure about wheelchair. Vegetarian options available. The service is great, they are so kind and make you want to...

45 Minutes for Breakfast? What a Joke. We waited 45 minutes for our breakfast — completely unacceptable. To make it worse, my wife's meal arrived first, and I had to remind the staff two or three times before mine finally showed up. By the time my food came, she had already finished hers. What’s the point of going out for breakfast with your partner if one person eats alone while the other just waits? The server didn’t seem to care when I asked about the delay — no apology, no explanation, just a disinterested attitude. We expected decent service and good food based on the high ratings, but this experience was nothing short of frustrating. Even in a busy café, a 20–25 minute wait might be fair — but this place wasn’t even crowded. Definitely not coming back, and wouldn’t recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxed breakfast out.

Food presentation: good Taste: average Service: bad Price: a bit expensive for bad service It's not the first time I dine in this cafe, but the overall service is declining. The critical problem is super under staff, with only 3 staff working in the cafe on a busy Saturday morning. Table is dirty & after waiting for 30 mins, I speak to one of the staff politely to ask if she can help to check my order as the lady sit next to us, arrive later than us, but already finished her food & left the cafe. The staff replied in a very annoying face & flat tone, 'yr order is big breakfast, need more time to cook'. After another 10mins, we recieved our food, and the staff suddenly gave us one extra piece of 'sorry harsh brown' & said in a flat tone, 'sorry for that', then left, that's halirious! I don't think I will go to this cafe again ;)
