Very disappointed with this franchise. Was greeted with what seemed to be an unhappy worker who ended up saying "sit anywhere besides table 3." The effort to make the customer pleased lacked which later just added up. When it came to ordering, I asked w"kind of vegetables are in the red curry?" To the same lady that greeted us, her reply was "awe, just your normal veg" which just left me wondering. For my partner who ordered after me, got the same thing he always gets chicken chilli cashew nut without onion and a large coconut rice. She took that order and we added drinks, Coke and lemongrass tea. The food was actually pretty quick, so that's a plus hey? But once we got it we where disappointed, again. The coconut rice lacked coconut and my partner meal came with onion and tofu. Like tofu? However do you get chicken out of tofu? My meal was really unpleasant. It came in a massive bowl pretty filled but what came in was a suprise. So, the "normal" veg that the waiter said must of meant putting pineapple, lychee, and tomatoes in was the norm around leaf. I called over a waiter who was talking to another staff and pointed his finger implying for me to wait. Which I found outragesly rude. When he finally did come over I asked could I have a large bowl just so I can put some rice and curry together and once he came back, I received what seemed a pet sized bowl for a cat or something. Pretty annoyed at this point I offered to just leg it because how incompetent the staff and franchise have been but we ended up...
Read moreOn our way back from Batemans bay, we were looking for something to eat. Honestly we had a lot of fish n chips over the last few days hence needed something different. Google search brought this place up and with absolutely no expectations, we reached this amazing restaurant.
Plenty parking available outside. The decor is great and the presence of a tuk-tuk makes it look authentic. The restaurant space is split into a Thai dining space as you enter and a Japanese restaurant on the far end.
Lovely friendly staff, clean interiors and busy service at lunch time was an indication that we probably made a right choice.
We ordered dumplings for kids. Me n wife shared a prawns green curry, the must have Som Tum Thai style and a lunch special garlic chicken and rice.
For drinks I had a Singha while the rest of the family tried mocktails. Mocktails were well presented but somehow for approximately $15 it felt a bit too overpriced.
Som tum was the best. Followed by the garlic chicken. The green curry though tasted amazing, lacked the texture. There were more veggies than the curry itself.
Overall for a $145 for a lunch for four, we left the place feeling very good.
Weâd definitely...

I took my 9 month old and was sat in an empty part of the restaurant, which was fine and suited us. My baby behaved well, didnât cry but was excited to try some chicken.
We received the following note from the leaf staff with no verbal discussion:
âDEAR VALUED CUSTOMERS, We warmly welcome families with children to our restaurant. However, we kindly request that parents and guardians supervise their children at all times. Occasionally, excessive mess or food spills can not only disrupt other guests but also pose safety risks. While our team is dedicated to providing exceptional service to all, we rely on your understanding that we cannot focus solely on one table or manage childcare duties. Please help us maintain a safe, clean, and enjoyable environment by respecting the hard work of our staff.â
I have attached this.
Clearly this is NOT a child friendly restaurant. My baby was not impacting other customers as we were many tables away and only one other in our area (she commented on how well behaved our baby was). I have taken my baby out all over Sydney and have never been treated in this way.
Would not...
