Surah Korean BBQ — Restaurant in Nowra

Very impressed with this gem in Nowra. We regularly eat/cook Korean food and have visited South Korea several times.

First: The flavours. I believe the flavours are true.

The lunch menu has the usual suspects but considering these are $10 dishes, it is an extensive menu.

The beef bulgogi and chilli pork were done well, with a smokey flavour and juicy, well-seasoned meat.

The soft tofu casserole is the best I've tasted (have tasted numerous over the years) and certainly hasn't been dumbed down for anyone. It's flavoursome, spicy and chockers with the softest tofu and seafood, with the necessary egg cracked in.

The side dishes are made inhouse and the kimchi was fresh, crunchy and tasty.

We did not try the Korean BBQ but saw all the requisite items like charcoal and many grilles.

Second: The value. The $10 lunch special is unbeatable. Portions are generous. If you order the bento box, you'll get a wonderfully balanced meal, both in terms of major food groups, and in terms of...

Absolutely delicious! Had marinated Wagyu beef and pork belly with salt and pepper, both of which were great! Came with lots of yumy sides and sauces, which we loved. Staff was very friendly as well. EDIT: Been here a couple of times already as of now (every time I go to Nowra, haha) and wow, this place really deserves 5 stars! I already had several dishes including different Wagyu beef, marinated chicken or pork belly's on the BBQ, Udon noodles, Jajangmyeon noodles (already 2x, haha, I love it), Bibimbap and more. well-trained, well presented and friendly staff. good quality meats & authentic korean dishes plus plating was on point with extra roasting veges. the place was clean and modern. theres not a lot of the menu but its sure enough for this experience and for two people.

feedback - if they had service button on the table that would be a bonus as we required a few run backs for water, refill sides, etc or just staff checking in with each table early on. the food came around 10-15 mins which is it bit long since most of the meat would have been prepared already.

but overall, we were impressed to find this gem at Nowra.
