Linke's Bakehouse & Pantry — Restaurant in Nuriootpa

The layout of this unassuming (from outside) is lovely, and the staff are friendly and accommodating. However, the prices are pretty high, and the quality of the food is somewhat disappointing 😞. I had the ham & cheese croissant and would initially have been charged about $13.50 for it - they aren't huge either. When I mentioned my surprise, the young lady explained it would be served open with extra cheese. Still, I can't see how this justifies an additional $4. So she offered me a closed croissant for $9.60. Still a little pricey considering the size. They are snap heated for 45 seconds, which does melt the cheese, but unfortunately makes the croissant soft as if put in a microwave. Wow! This would have to be one of the most expensive bakeries in South Australia. There are no prices visibly on their items and I would say, for a good reason. I paid $19.50 for three fairly plain bakery items and they wanted $3 more if I sat in their cafe. I questioned the nice young lady serving me about the price and the owner came over and asked her if she was ok, in clear view of me. Why don't you ask your customer if he is ok? Everything was ok until we were seated. We were away from others (covid) until they directed a group to sit directly behind me and my grandson. Both people were so close they were touching us. I asked if there was a covid Marshall and was informed that they had one and the amount of people was within covid guidelines. Not if customers were touching. It was nice to see it so busy but more space is needed between customers. We left without eating in. My quiche was thrown out as it was dry and very hard. Daughters...
