Unfortunately the seating is a huge issue. We've had to leave on a few occasions because there's no standard seating and my friends and I with physical differences just aren't able to sit at bar stools, physically can't get up there. It's FREEZING for ยพ of the year and feel second class when the only place you can sit is outside, so we leave.
When we have got seating, Food is good, but not as good as what it was, and is quite expensive for what it is. For a "share snack" of sliders, wings and drinks, it was the cost of just having dinner, which was a pity if it was just a bit more food or a bit cheaper, or if you add something to the menu that is a bit cheaper to snack on, we'd have definitely stayed for dinner and entertainment and spent more, instead we left to have dinner elsewhere.
Giving the vibes of a "school camp mess hall" or "camping ground communal kitchen" the baige walls make the interior look dated and the only thing to look at is the giant coffee machine and that's not the reason we stopped.
It's just got a miss matched vibe, we thought that it was just transitioning from the old vibe into a fresh new one but it's been left bare for ages.
Sorry, from being regulars into only if friends beg us to join, have booked accessible seating and we've already eaten first. It's a pity, we really enjoyed...
ย ย ย Read moreMyself, my daughter, and my 7 yr old grandaughter love visiting the Barossa Valley and have been doing so for years.. We decided to sit at the Taphouse for a couple of drinks before continuing on to the tastings.. My granddaughter was looking for something light to eat and decided on a small plate of chips.. To be told they were too busy to tie up the fryers with orders of chips, was a shock.. I watched as wait staff were handing out orders of hamburgers and chips or meals with sides of chips and to look around twice, after being told twice they were too busy, only to see aoprox 20 people sitting inside and out of this large area, really surprised me. To think, that after all the promotion of tourism and the desperation plea by traders and business owners to get out and visit and support local business to assist with recovery, a small plate of chips was too hard and not worth their effort...consequently, they lost a sale of around $40... Obviously we were not impressed and will not...

We went here on a Monday night, and had a stack of fun. We try to bring our customers here on wine tour when and where we can. Michael the owner here has a great beer and Whiskey selection, and the education he gives his customers, on a one-on-one basis, is like a Masterclass.
In summary - Stein's has a great atmosphere, good crowd, nice'n friendly staff, and the top boutique wines, craft beers and unique spirits.
A welcome addition to the Barossa. Congratulations Michael and Jan from all the team at Barossa & Light...
