Zambrero Ocean Grove — Restaurant in Ocean Grove

Never have I written a review, or wanted to. But this couldn’t be ignored. Unfortunately tonight I went to this store and ordered my usual. I asked for a few crushed corn chips on top of my burrito ( a bit of extra crunch if you will). However when the chip bowl was empty and only had seasoning, instead of going out the back and getting a few chips, the worker decided to empty a entire packet of damn barbecue shape flavouring on my burrito that was left over in the bowl (not actually bbq shapes it’s a metaphor). Not even a chip in sight! Never in my life have I tasted a burrito so zesty. I was dumbfounded! I work in hospitality too, and I understand a last minute customer before closing is frustrating, but oh my lord, my mouth just might be traumatised! Unfortunately it was inedible. Yes, I could’ve said something to the young woman when she did it, but I was in shock (and not the confrontation type either). Every other experience I’ve had at Zambreos (OG or Geelong west) have been very positive. I’ve even stood my ground against friends and family in friendly debates that zammys is better than GYG. Every time I get it these days the contents of the burrito is always all over the outside too. Zero quality control. I’ve tried 4 times now and it continues to happen. Can’t eat a burrito when your hands are covered in avo and sour cream.

I will say the staff are lovely and I’ve tried to give leeway, continues to happen. Have left feedback multiple times as politely as I could.

Great clean place for quick burrito, chips, 🌮 tacos. In the new shopping center in OG. The meats were premade on the warmer and ready to serve.

Fresh topping and veggie salsa and other sorts of toppings. Vegan and vegetarian options.

Staff was friendly and very helpful with our kids changing appetites.

The tables, chairs, floors were clean and presentable upon arrival.
