After a long drive decided to come to the Orange ex services club to enjoy a nice meal. The T bone steak was near perfection and delicious, and I would highly recommend getting this dish if you ever come to this place. However I also ordered a chicken burger, the burgers buns were nice and tasty and the burger held together very well, however the burger lacked a lot of taste and tasted to bland. Also the cole slaw in the burger tasted bitter and left an abnormal aftertaste, which I have never encountered before. Lastly I ordered a fisherman’s basket. The calamari and fish in the basket was good, no complaints there, however the coleslaw had this bitter abnormally strong taste which made it near inedible. Now this was a bit disappointing as it’s always sad to see a salad left anlone and uneaten. So in summary if you come to and the orange rsl ensure you order the T-bone steak, they know how to cook it and you won’t be disappointed, but I would stay clear of the salads at this point of time. In regards to the chicken burger I feel like it was fried to much and there was an imbalance in terms of crunchiness and taste. Joined the club tonight. Both the rear and entrance receptionist where very welcoming, helpful , and pleasant in communication and there roles. Both the bat attendant and bistro servers where again very pleasing, and Joyful. My order arrived promptly and was placed with politeness and a smile. My garlic cheese bread was as expected. My chilli garlic linguine was a good size and looked promising. There where amble large prawns easily accommodating of one person. Where I feel improvement could be made is in the flavour. Unfortunately it was very bland , pasta was cooked well but quite gluggy, there was no seasoning and no heat or bite from I assume either dried flakes or chille powder . The cheery tomatoes had no sweetness . This dish with these ingredients all can take and need strong and powerful flavours as to boost and highlight the flavour experience. Fresh chill and basil with a touch of roasted garlic would really pull this dish together and make it an explosion of flavour and texture. I do look forward to returning and trying other dishes due to the great welcome and service and the pleasing ambience and...

December roast dinner was terrible, overpriced, cold Yorkshire pudding and very small for a dinner priced over $25. The chicken Parmigiani was better but still very overpriced and they got my order wrong, giving me the standard Parmigiani instead of the Italian Parmigiani that I ordered. The latte was very nice, smooth and a good coffee taste generally, these were all ordered at The Coffee Shop. This closed at 8pm so we moved into the bistro for another latte. This was served by a woman as bitter as this coffee. I assume she took the huff because we only ordered coffee. She slammed the coffee on the table and didn't say a word. So there are several possible reasons the club was virtually empty, as well as being Xmas Eve. It was like the chef put a chicken breast through a ham slicer and turned it into 10 schnitzels. I have never seen anything like it. Mash was ok and carrots could have done with another 5 mins cooking. Will try somewhere else tonight.

Always loath to leave a negative review but the management need to put a rocket up the staff in the restaurant. We stood waiting to get a table while 5 staff stood gossiping behind a counter. Then when ordering the lady taking the order was more interested in gossiping to the lady beside her than acknowledging us. Other people beside us also mentioned staff standing around and having a gossip. Quite sad as it is a nice club and the food was awesome. Some staff or management training is needed.
