Nam Hangang Korean BBQ — Restaurant in Parkwood

We recently visited Nam Hangang, a brand new Korean BBQ restaurant in the Riverton Forum Shopping Centre and the latest branch of Marubang in Northbridge, for a family dinner.

The restaurant has a clean and cozy atmosphere, making it a great spot for both casual meals and special gatherings. The staff were exceptionally friendly and attentive, which made our dining experience even more enjoyable.

We ordered a set menu, including a variety of spicy dishes and traditional sides like kimchi. Just like at Marubang, everything was absolutely delicious — full of bold, authentic flavors. We thoroughly enjoyed every bite.

Although the Korean BBQ wasn’t available yet during our visit, we’re definitely planning to come back once it’s ready. We’re really looking forward to trying it!

A very popular Korean restaurant with a great range of different dishes you don't see in many places! The spicy kimchi pancake was super yummy. The spicy tofu soup with beef rice meal was also really tasty, would recommend. We also tried the small spicy raw crab which was super interesting to try and eat! Comes with rice so keep that in mind in case you don't want too many rice bowls. The pork blood sausage soup meal set was super tasty and the side dishes that came with it were yummy as well. Same with the poor bulgogi meal set. The spicy pork with rice was also pretty good. The pork kimchi stew is a huge portion (for sharing) and was also quite good. Definitely over ordered for a group of 5!

Pricing is slightly on the more expensive side but portion size is worth it. It gets very busy, so make sure to book in advance. Plenty of parking as this is located outside of a shopping centre! Staff were accommodating...

To the owner of Nam Hangang, you have a really bad staffing issue. The food is decent but the whole experience was a let down due to our order being lost. We had to follow up 4-5 times on where our food was and we waited over two hours after placing our order before getting our food. Even after escalating multiple times, instead of prioritising our food, other tables who arrived more than our hour after us were served first. The staff also were so under the pump that they really looked lost when we enquired about our food - in fact, they would have preferred if we had cancelled our order.

Having a big, spacious restaurant is only a positive if you are able to appropriately staff the location and ensure that your patrons are able to actually receive the food that they ordered. I feel for the staff because they should never have been put in this position by the...
