The Riverton Bar and Grill — Restaurant in Parkwood

We go here reasonably regularly. It's usually loud and busy, but the food is generally good and they have a general selection of choices that suit most tastes in our extended family. During our last 3 visits we've felt their standards have slipped. We've had tables of around 10 people, with orders all placed at the same time. Meals arrived quickly for some, and took much, much longer for others..... with about 40 minutes and several queries to staff, between the first and last meals to arrive to the table. The last meal to arrive, on our last visit, had his extra bowl of hot sauce arrive at the table 20 minutes before his steak, which meant the sauce was cold by the time the food arrived. Unfortunately it was the same family member who waited the longest the last 2 times, and he's said he won't be back. I had my garlic prawns replaced as there was a hair in the meal. Even the replacement came out before his meal. It means most at the table had long since finished their meals, and had their plates cleared before final meals were delivered, despite them saying they'd hold them to come out at a similar time. Possibly they're just too busy to cope. It's a pity, because it's a good set up for groups like extended families, where you can each order and pay individually at the bar, so there's no need to split bills for the table etc. Their online booking for tables for bigger groups (over 6 I think), is also a little off putting. They require your credit card details and do a check to see if the person booking has a $20 per person 'no show' fee available before accepting your booking. Considering our last 3 visits, we'll probably move our extended family get togethers elsewhere, although I'd be OK with a quick meal for two on a weekend, when we don't have a larger...

Had been wanting to visit the riverton bar & grill after hearing good things about it. Very dissapointed, it was very noisy, overpriced considering the quality of the food and standard of service. We ordered fish &e chips, supposed to be burramundi (not sure that it was), one was grilled, the other battered. The grilled fish was thin, small fillets & very soft not very nice, whereas the battered seemed to be a different fish, it was a bigger, thicker fillet with batter being very oily and thick and also not very nice. The salad on the plate had no dressing, while the coleslaw had no flavour the worst salad ever and the chips were obviously frozen not freshly made. For the price it was very expensive, we didn't finish it as found it to be tasteless. We ordered a jug of lemon lime & bitters it looked like lemonade and didn't taste like it was lemon, lime & bitters. We then decided to try sweets and ordered a brownie and strawberry cheesecake. Neither was very nice, and we were expecting it to be sweet but both tasted like the sugar had been left out. I asked if they had any cream or icecream that we could have with sweets and they said no, a bit hard too believe. I was told they were waiting for an ice cream machine, think this is a weak excuse as they could purchase ice cream and cream. We also ordered garlic bread which was burnt on the crust and you couldn't taste the garlic. Overall very expensive and poor quality food /service. We won't be going back...

After being a chef of 35 yrs worst scotch fillet in many years payed $42 for steak lots of gristle very cheap cut of scotch fillet very tough wont be coming back.Id rather go to Coles get 4 scotch for same price.You really need to improve quality of food charging top dollar for average food was there 10 mths ago food quality has gone down hill big time that was a terrible piece of scotch fillet.If thats the best i can get for $43 I'll cook at home CHEFS SERIOUSLY NEED TO LIFT THERE GAME THAT WAS TERRIBLE FOOD TO BUSY WATCHING CRICKET INSTEAD OF QUALITY OF PRODUCT COMING OUT.OVER PRICED UNDER ACHIEVING FOOD.
