This restaurant is just immaculate. Everything was perfectly presented and angelic. The food, the service, the atmosphere, the location, the options, the menu, the options, everything. This place is a gem and it deserves all the hype.
We went here for lunch and it was a very pleasant experience. We got 2 crab linguines and two duck confines. The crab linguine was absolutely delicious, felt the gods hug me when i ate it. The duck just fell apart and was juicy and flavourful and came with this amazing potato thing which tasted gorgeous. The portions of the food were filling as well. We got 3 desserts which two of them were crème brûlées and the other being a chocolate lava cake. The crème brûlée’s were as good as the ones in France. Really impressed as it is basically impossible to find a proper crème brûlée what tastes like the real thing. Creamy and melts on your tongue and the sugar is not thick but not too thin, just really hits the spot. The chocolate lava cake was perfect as well.
Overall this place is the best French restaurant i’ve ever been to. Amazing service, nice and friendly staff, gorgeous atmosphere, delicious food, and just great in general. I will come here again surely. 10/10...
Read moreEvery time we’re on the Sunshine Coast, Periwinkle in Peregian Beach is a non-negotiable stop—and for good reason. The menu remains delightfully consistent, ensuring we know exactly what we’re in for: top-notch French-inspired dishes that never disappoint.
This time, the standout was the BARRAMUNDI: a perfectly seared filet with crushed potatoes, lemon butter sauce, and parsley oil. It was the dish of the night—light, flavorful, and cooked to perfection. Close behind was the DUCK CONFIT, with its tender duck leg, creamy potato dauphinois, and a porcini mushroom sauce that tied everything together beautifully.
The PORK BELLY, while well-cooked, was the one misstep for us. The pea purée overpowered the dish—perhaps a lighter touch would have balanced it better, though that might come down to personal preference.
We wrapped up with a couple of s to share, and they were everything a good dessert should be—creamy, caramelized, and utterly indulgent.
Periwinkle’s reliable menu and consistently excellent execution make it a favorite we’ll keep coming back to. Highly recommended, especially if you’re a fan of barramundi or...
Read moreAs one would expect Periwinkle is a class establishment. Whether "Periwinkle" means the plant, "Vinca minor" or refers to the sea snail, "Melarhaphe neritoides" one can ponder, perhaps both. Its a busy place and the food seldom dissapoints. We had the French pizza, (button mushrooms), Soughdough Baguette, Bechamel Scallops, prawns and Mussels for entree, Barramundi and Spanner Crab Linguini for main, all fantastic flavours, delicious.
Dessert was Creme Brulee, Chocolate Lava cake, a short black and two Semillion Desert wines. Needless to say that we walked home, full and debauched was a understatement, but hell you have to go all the way in this sort of establishment if only for one night a year. Very nice waitress, kind, which is what you want in staff after all that work the floor in a restaurant.
The only slight critiscism would be the lighting which is a little too bright for me, a little more atmosphere would add to the...
